Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm here to share my Monday experience, which was quite hectic and filled with a mix of emotions.

A Chaotic Monday in the Endocrinology Ward Rounds: Emotions, challenges, and Reflections

I woke up early, got ready, and packed my meals to prevent any delays at home. I arrived at the office as planned, starting the day with our morning devotion, followed by a review session to discuss the patients under our care and track their progress.

After the review, my colleagues, students, and I headed to our designated units for ward rounds, where I was assigned to the Endocrinology ward. As a Dietitian on the team, my job involves assessing patients' nutritional needs, creating suitable diets, and educating them on managing their conditions through proper nutrition and lifestyle adjustments.

During our rounds, we visited each patient's bedside, examining medical records to understand their progress and plan subsequent treatments. While some patients had successful recoveries and were discharged, others with complications required continued management. Sadly, we received the heartbreaking news that we lost a few critically ill patients. One specific case that struck me deeply was a 1-year-and-3-month-old child with 45% burns who didn't survive. It was particularly tragic knowing the child had fallen into hot water after waking up, and that thought lingered with me throughout the day.

Following ward rounds, I taught the students about Diabetes Mellitus, answered their questions, and assigned homework. By 4 PM, I wrapped up my workday and headed home, feeling drained and emotionally weighed down. After freshening up and having dinner, I took some time to relax by watching movies. Although I face challenging cases regularly, this Monday left a profound impact on me. I express gratitude for life and pray for the souls we lost to find peace.

I hope you had a great day at work, Thank you for reading..
