sanc4: Share your thoughts about MOTHER
When I hear the word "Mother," I think of love and sacrifices, a teacher, power and a home, all these in one person.
How about you, what do you see? You will agree with me on the above qualities.
You may wonder why I call Mother, a "home." Want to know why? let's find out together.👇🏾
Love and sacrifice
I can still remember how my Mother wakes up early every morning to get us ready for school, the four of us, her children. Food is one of the basic needs of life, and Mothers are always conscious of that.
By 5 am, Mom's kettle of water is on the electric stove. When it reaches boiling point, we bath one after the other, while our breakfast is being served. This is a true definition of mother's love. I love my Mother so much😊
Mothers sacrifice their time, energy, money and other resources just for the comfort of their children. Sometimes, they even extend that love and sacrifice to other children who are not biologically their own.
These are some sacrifices that make mothers special:
A Mother sometimes skip meal so that the children can eat. Sometimes she eat little just to make sure their children are belly full.
They don't sleep when her child is sick. They try every remedy just to make sure the child feels warm and survive the night.
I will say, a Mother's love is very very unconditional. It has no limit. She does what's best for her family and keeps them on track every day.
My first teacher
Before we were enrolled in a formal education, our Mother was our first teacher. They taught us morals: to respect our elders, talk politely, table manners, how to pray and to stay responsible.
Mothers uses different approaches to teach us. They use stories; Christian parents especially use Bible stories. They also use examples, illustration, even their own life experiences. These help shape us to be a responsible person in life.
Mothers are quick to understand our fears, challenges, and confusion. Whenever we run to her with a problem, her advice is always simple and helpful if we apply it. Even though the advice may seem hard, it is filled with wisdom because it foundation is a Mother's love.
Her strength and protection
A mother's silent prayer is what protects and keeps us going, despite it all. Don't underrate a mother's prayer. It can move mountains for you, without you even knowing.
If I want to define strength in a human form, I'll say: Strength is a Mother. I said this because the moment a person hears "mother," you would think of all the workload a mother has on her head. Her job (profession) yet she still cooks, cleans, and a lot more.
She doesn't get tired. She wakes everyday, 365 days a year, to do what she knows to do best; for the betterment of her family.
Mom's everyday moments
The delicious meals she prepares every day. And each child has their special menu. That comfort is possible because a Mother is there; she makes a "home."
The house feels different when she is not there. When Mummy is home, we know joy just arrived. We run to welcome Mummy. Good enough, she got us snacks 😋
Her thoughtful words: "How are you feeling?" and "Sorry" when a child is sick can make the child feel much better mentally. The care and compassion heals even before physical healing.
Also, her concern about the her young adults is always touching: "Where are you, it's getting late o!" It's a privilege to have a Mother by your side.
My Conclusion
Can you fully repay your Mother for all she has done for you? I'll say not really.
But the best you can do is to love her, respect her and make her proud. That is the pride of a Mother.
If your Mother is still alive, do your best to make her proud with what you do. If she's not, so sorry. Live by her memories; keep the values she taught you and the advices she gave. You will be very responsible and successful.
There's a saying: Behind every successful person, there is or was a Mother; who loved unconditionally and sacrificed herself, who was the first teacher before formal education, Mother with strength and protection, and who still pilots the everyday activities that make a successful home. A Mother in charge.
