Greetings, and I humbly welcome you all to my blog. It's your favorite artist, @emmaboy23, and today I have come with another piece of art to share with you all. Every drawing begins with a spark—an idea that quietly grows until it demands to be brought to life. For this piece, I chose to capture the calm brilliance and commanding presence of the Professor from Money Heist. It wasn’t just about recreating a face; it was about translating a personality onto paper using nothing but pencil and patience. Below are the steps I took in creating this drawing.

Drawing materials

• A4 paper

• mechanical pencil

• graphite pencils: 2B, 4B, and 6B

• charcoal pencil

• black pen

• eraser

• sharpener

Steps involved

Step 1

I started with the eyes and glass; I paid special attention to the glasses. They are not just an accessory but a defining part of the character’s identity, so I made sure they sat naturally and aligned well with the facial structure.

Step 2

I gradually moved into shading. This is always my favorite part because it’s where the drawing begins to breathe. I built the tones slowly, layer by layer, deepening shadows and preserving highlights. Then I gradually added the beards.

Step 3

Next was the hair. The hair required patience, as I used short, controlled strokes to mimic its natural flow and texture. I focused on contrast here, ensuring the highlights stood out against the darker tones, which helped create volume.

Step 4

As I continued with my drawing, I gradually shaded the neck and added the clothes that he is wearing. This part helped complete the portrait.

Step 5

As I reached this final stage, I focused on refinement—deepening the darkest areas, sharpening edges, and cleaning up stray marks. These finishing touches gave the portrait a polished feel, tying everything together into a complete piece. Below is my final result.

Creating this drawing was more than just a technical exercise; it was a process of observation, patience, and expression. With just a pencil and paper, I was able to capture a character admired by millions, and that alone is incredibly fulfilling. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my art journey. More creative works coming soon!

I'd love to invite @saintkelvin17, @arjinarahman, @caringmanasseh, and @m-princess.

Your artwork is truly admirable. It shows your skill and hard work to render Álvaro Morte so beautifully in pencil. The detailing of the eyes and glasses in particular is superb. Which really brings out the character's true identity. The shading and use of light and shadow is also impressive. Giving the portrait a sense of depth and realism. The hair and beard details are also beautifully done showing your patience and focus. Finally the finishing touches give the entire sketch a complete and professional look. This is truly not just a drawing, but a beautiful expression. Great job.👏
