SHOW YOUR SKILL TALENT TIME 👉 ART, INNOVATION, HANDMADE, UPCYCLING, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY & MORE

in Steem Kids & Parents27 days ago

Greetings, Steemit friends and art lovers in the community, Today, I’m going to be sharing something different—my second pen drawing. For this wonderful contest, SHOW YOUR SKILL, TALENT, TIME 👉 ART, INNOVATION, HANDMADE, UPCYCLING, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY & MORE, organized by @mesola, I am excited to share my second experience working with a pen drawing, and I decided to express my creativity through something simple yet deeply meaningful—a pen drawing of a cat lying down. I hope you like this drawing as I walk you through how I came about it.

Drawing items

• A4 paper

• Bic pen

• normal pen

Step 1

Since pen drawing does not allow for corrections, I approached it with patience and focus. I began with the eyes, because to me, they are the soul of the artwork. I carefully shaped them to reflect a soft, relaxed mood, leaving tiny highlights to give them life and depth.

Step 2

After that, I worked on the facial features—the nose, mouth, and whisker areas—keeping my strokes gentle and controlled.

Step 3

Here I added the fur; I paid closer attention to the direction of the fur, allowing my strokes to flow naturally instead of forcing them. Using short, repeated lines, I created texture that feels more realistic and alive.

Step 4

Next was shading. In my first pen drawing, I was a bit cautious, but here I allowed myself to go bolder. The shaded area beneath the cat’s head helps to ground the subject, making it feel like it truly rests on something.

Step 5

Then in this step, I added little details where necessary and refined it a little to give me my desired result, and below is my final result.

As an artist, I am constantly learning, and each drawing teaches me something new. This one, in particular, taught me to slow down and appreciate the process. Every line mattered; every detail had a purpose. I’m still learning, still exploring, but I can see the progress—and that alone is motivating. Thank you all for your support and for taking the time to view my work. Your encouragement inspires me to keep learning and sharing more of my artistic journey.

I'd like to invite @us-andrew, @taniya0, @urmilanath650, and @m-princess.
