morning
First, I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, washed my hands and face to freshen up, and headed to the kitchen to assist the staff with the cooking preparations—where they were busy chopping vegetables. It was then that I came across a peculiar-looking potato and took a photograph of it. I remained seated there while the vegetables were being chopped.
Then, at 8:30 AM—just as I do every day—I went downstairs to collect the newspapers kept on the table on the ground floor. After counting every page of the newspapers and noting down the day, date, and total page count on them, I returned them to the ground-floor common room. Since the responsibility for managing the mess currently rests on my shoulders, and I spend all my time within the hostel premises, I headed toward the dining hall just before 9:00 AM; there, I served food to everyone in the hostel.
afternoon
That morning, after finishing all my tasks, I went out again—this time accompanied by someone else—to buy vegetables at the Tentultala market. Since it was approaching midday, finding a Toto (e-rickshaw) proved to be quite difficult. Later that afternoon, having finished our vegetable shopping, we stopped at a spot to catch a Toto for our return journey; it was there that I noticed a large number of pigeons.
Upon returning to the hostel, I had my lunch, which consisted of two dishes: Rui fish curry and a dish of Malabar spinach and potatoes cooked with Bori (sun-dried lentil cakes). Later in the afternoon, I once again assisted the cooks with their cooking duties by organizing and arranging the necessary supplies from the storeroom. I hadn't had any time to rest during the afternoon, as I had been extremely busy with a heavy workload.

night
That evening, I retrieved the homemade ice cream from the freezer in the storeroom, cut it into pieces, and served it. Later, at 8:30 PM, I went to the storeroom again—where I marked each egg with the corresponding boarder's number; subsequently, at 9:00 PM, we served food once more. Finally, having finished my own meal, at 10:30 PM, I tidied up the newspapers and sat down to reconcile the accounts for the day's various activities. Such was my experience of a busy day.
