My DIY Origami Art: The Easy Way to Make a Colorful Paper Umbrella

Hope you all are well. Today I am sharing with you all a new and beautiful creation of mine. This time I made a very beautiful and creative miniature decorative colorful umbrella with the help of different types of colored paper, string and clay. This is a simple yet adorable DIY project that both kids and adults can easily make. The pictures above show all the steps involved in its preparation.

Equipment used

Colored origami paper
Fine wire
Scissors
Black and yellow clay
The glue
Golden stickers for decoration

How to make

First step:

First I made the handle of the umbrella out of black clay and used fine wire to strengthen it inside.

Second step:

The colored paper was then cut into equal parts and carefully folded to form the different panels of the umbrella.

Third step:

Then fitted the wire in the middle and attached all the paper parts to it one by one, forming the round shape of the umbrella.

Step Four:

I added a small pointy part to the top of the umbrella and decorated the edges by making small balls of yellow clay.

Fifth Step:

Finally made the umbrella more beautiful by applying golden round stickers. Thus my colorful decorative umbrella is complete.

My experience

This project was very interesting for me. It was a very little bit difficult and interesting to bend and curve the paper to the right angles and directions and to attach all the parts evenly with perfect way, but with patience and attention the job was done. When the umbrella was ready, its beautiful color and unique design gave the best result of my hard work.

What did I learn?

Through this activity, I learned that beautiful decorative items can be made using simple materials. These types of activities develop creative thinking, fine-tuning skills and patience in children. If parents also do this activity together with the children, the learning process becomes more enjoyable.
