Invigilation soon to end

I was assigned to be part of the invigilating team as a staff of the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic in the department of Accountancy. Invigilation time table came out and I discovered that I am part of it. The examination has 3 weeks to run and since then, I have been very busy with it

Our exams has 3 sessions, morning which runs from 8am to 10.30am, the mid-day which runs from 11am to 1.30pm and the afternoon session which runs from 2pm to 4.30pm.

On the first week that began on the 7th of April 2026, I had a very hectic week as I was featured in all 4 days both morning and midday. I didn't have anyone for afternoon session. We are expected to be at the examination hall assigned for the paper 30m before time with the materials. Thank goodness that I never went late in any of those and I wasn't absent either. To ensure everyone is active. Some key officials were assigned to go round to get the names of those seen on duty who will write their names and signature.

Our work as invigilators includes getting the materials, going to the halls assigned and then arranging the students accordingly including searching them to ensure nothing is on them that could implicate them during the exams., then monitor them write without cheating, give out attendance list and ensure they all write down their names to prove that they were present. When they are done writing, we ensure that the number of scripts corresponds with the number in the attendance lists. After collecting the scripts from the students, we go back to submit all and sign the return list.

On the second, I was featured online 3 days and in most of the days, It was just in the morning or afternoon session and so, it wasn't as tedious as the first week and it was the same routine as in the first week. I only stood in few times for my colleagues who were absent on their days. I was only able to take the picture below

We are on the third week already and 2 days has gone already. I have featured on this 2 days already. On Tuesday, I featured on the whole 3 sessions and finished by 6pm after signing the return form. On Wednesday, I only had one session which was in the morning. It was also stressful but since it was just one session, I was able to contend with it. It is now one day to go for me because I don't have anyone on this Thursday. Below are my pictures for Tuesday and Wednesday for this last week

In all the papers I invigilated. My course was part of it and it was on the 7th. I went with the questions I had prepared for them and it went well. Then on all the halls I featured, there was no problem at all as everything was under control. Flying invigilators were flying in and out. Sometimes they will catch some students cheating and deal with them accordingly. I caught some too and I did the needful as soon as possible.

On Friday which will climax the exams for the morning programs, I will feature in the midday session and it will end their nut it doesn't mean that we are done. Yes, we will begin the exams for the evening programs because I am also lecturing evening students. I believe that it won't be as stressful as that of the morning session.
