Do you know that you can make a simple envelope at the comfort of your home?. Instead of buying envelopes, my family and I makes them at home using simple materials. It is an easy and fun craft that anyone can try. In this post, I will be sharing the step-by-step methods I used to make an envelope at home.

• A plain white paper (A4 paper)
• A pair of scissors
• A Gum
• A set square (used as an improvised ruler)
• A highlighter pen and a red pen for decoration

To make my paper plain, I decided to cut the letterhead out of it. To get a plain and straight sheet of paper, I placed my set square properly between the letterhead and the plain paper before removing the letterhead with my hands. However, to make the edge smooth, I used my scissors to trim it properly.

After cutting out the letterhead from the plain sheet, I divided the paper into two parts. I made sure that the upper part of the paper was bigger than the bottom part so that I would be able to shape the envelope properly. After doing so, I used my set square to straighten the paper and make it neat.

I added gum to the two edges at the bottom of my envelope. After applying the gum, I went ahead and joined the bottom together with the top, but I still left a space behind for the cover flap.

I folded the cover together with the body of the envelope. After that, I added gum to the edges of the cover flap and sealed the edges properly.

I used my set square to strengthen and smooth out the envelope, both at the front and the back, to give it a neat appearance.

For the decorations of my envelope, first, I used my highlighter pen to decorate the back of the envelope before using my red pen to draw a heart-shaped design on it. This made the envelope look more attractive and beautiful.

Making this envelope was easy and enjoyable, and this is what I and my family members do in our leisure time, especially during the weekend. Although there are many unique ways of making an envelope, this method I used is the simplest of them all and easy to learn. Handmade crafts like this help us become creative even while we are also saving money, and I hope my envelope-making process was beneficial to someone today.
