On the 26th day of April, 2026 I presided the last meeting in my tenure as the president of the Altar Servers association in my parish. It is a day I can't forget and I'm grateful to God that the meeting was successful. We weren't much in the meeting though we were more than 18 and I definitely appreciated all those that were present in the meeting that day.

I served 6am mass that Sunday and I planned to go back home immediately after the mass so that I can make some preparations for the meeting and come back to church after the last Sunday mass for that day, to begin the meeting. The first mass ended and I wanted to purchase incense from the sacramentals store in the church but incense wasn't available. I wasn't happy at all because I didn't plan to get it from another parish. I stayed back in the church premises thinking of a way I get incense that will be used during the 9am mass.

I found a solution and sent one of the Altar Servers in my parish to buy the incense and I went home. The 7am mass which was the second mass for that day had already started. When I arrived home I ate breakfast and wrote the agenda for the meeting. In the next 4 hours I left the house and headed straight to church. On my way to church I saw some members on the road and I quickly knew that the mass has ended.

When I arrived at the church I noticed my members have already arranged themselves waiting for me to come and begin the meeting. We started with an opening prayer and then I gave an opening remark. Out of the former executives only two were present in the meeting and I wasn't happy about that at all. Yes most of them have been inactive but I expected them to be present in the meeting since is our last meeting as executives in the association. Even the newly elected executives weren't complete. I expected at least 8 of them to be present but only 6 of them were present.

I allowed three executives out of them to sit on the high table with I and my financial secretary. Actually they were four but the provost was walking round with the attendance book ensuring the meeting was in order. The minute from the previous meeting was read aloud by the financial secretary and after that we did introduction and started the main business for the day. We often talk about unseriousness in our meetings because majority of the members aren't serious and is not nice at all even after we've tried different disciplinary actions.

Some issues were tackled in the meeting concerning unseriousness and after that we talked about the newly elected executives. I advised them to take their duty serious and ensure the association is always in a good shape. My financial secretary also said something concerning the new executives. Announcements were made towards the end of the meeting and we gave a room for some persons who have any other thing to say, to tell the entire house so that we can sort it out together.

After that session someone adjourned the meeting and I made an emotional closing remark and I appreciated everyone for their co-operation so far, it wasn't at all. We said a closing prayer after that and that sang our anthem loudly. The meeting ended successfully and I'm grateful to God for everything. There wasn't any refreshment but I believe in he upcoming months there will be refreshments in most of our meetings. Everyone went home happily and safely. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
