Photography Story Contest #02 || Butterfly Lesson Through My Lens
Photography moment is always a moment that capture story, but sometimes the story which our camera hold can go beyond what eye can see. One hot afternoon, as I walking in the football field, I saw a butterfly that was just laying on the ground like it as died. The wings didn't move, the body didn't shake too. In my mind I said, “Ah, this butterfly has died.”

But something inside me didn't agree for me to walk away. I bend down, carry it gently and put on my hand. I blow small breeze on the wings, I even touch it softly, just to check if there's life in it. At first, nothing comes up. My heart was heavy. I felt pity for it. But suddenly, the wings begin to shake small, like a person which just wake up from sleep. It was that time that joy full my heart.

I reach out to my phone and I quickly take a picture of the moment, because I didn't want to forget that fragile beauty. As I still look at it, the butterfly gathered more strength. With one sudden energy, it flap the wings strong, then fly out from my hand. As it flies, I notice there was a shiny dust from the wings which remain on my palm. It was like a golden powder, glittering on my hand, as a reminder that I have just touch life which almost gone.

Personal Lessons which I learn from that moment |

Life is truly fragile: What looks like an end can just be a rest. Sometimes people are like that butterfly — weak, silent, but still full of breathing hope.
Patience is powerful: If I rush to leave it back to the ground, match it or just leave it there on the ground maybe it would have died. But small care and time bring back it strength. This is really a clear point to me, a small care and time from me can rise up a fellow human.
Resilience is very beautiful: The way it fly after weakness show that even small creature can rise again. So size doesn't matter.
My Reflection |

Later, as I look into the photos, I realize that it's not just an image of a butterfly — it's a reflection of my own life. I do have times which I feel grounded, no energy, and I almost give up. But like that butterfly, with patience and small help, I do rise again.
Honestly photography help me to freeze that lesson. Therefore the picture didn't just show wings and colors; it shows hope, resilience, and reminder that even the smallest creature can leave the biggest impression.
The butterfly fly away, but it leave me with more than shiny dust. It leave me with story which I carry on my hand, my lens, and my heart. Sometimes it's the small things which we capture with camera that teach us the biggest wisdom.
