The Voice We Came to Know, The Joy We Left With: Convention Final day

Sunday morning started early, and honestly, that's how you knew this was the final day, everyone showing up with a mix of tiredness and excitement, knowing the convention was coming to its close.

It began at 7:45am with Sunday school, led by all the area leaders and Sunday school teachers together. The sub-theme, "Examining the Characteristics of the Known Voice," pulled from quite a number of scriptures, Philemon 4:7, Romans 8:1, 1 Corinthians 14:3, Hebrews 4:12, 1 Kings 19:12, and John 10:27.

It felt like a fitting way to open the last day, breaking down piece by piece what actually makes a voice recognizable as His, before the bigger services of the day carried the theme forward.

By 9am, the divine worship service began, led by the Field Superintendent, and this one returned fully to the convention's central theme, "The Comfort of the Known Voice," drawing again from John 20:11 to 16, 19 to 22, and John 14:2 to 3.

Pastor P. C. Uwak led the chorus, and the congregation moved through hymns, worship, and scripture reading before the choirs took their turn. And what a lineup it was, Major Centre Choir, Sunday School, Ikot Obio Atai, Field Choir, Ekritam, Akon Itam, Ikot Mbonde, Major Centre Youth Choir, Atemakang, ABC, TACSFON, Ikot Andem, Ikot Ekwere, and Area Temple. Fourteen choirs in all, each one adding to what already felt like a full circle moment for the convention.

Apostle Dr I. B. Otuekong interpreted through the service, and the Field Evangelist led a prayer session before Pastor Gabriel Peter made an appeal for the Major Centre project, calling on everyone present to contribute toward the continued growth of the center.

At 3pm, the tone shifted outward with the witness rally, led by the Field Evangelist and all the area witness leaders. The sub-theme, "Proclaiming the Known Voice to the World," from John 3:16, made the point clear, the convention wasn't just about receiving comfort, it was also about carrying that voice out to others. Choirs from Ikot Ekwere, Ekritam, Akon Itam, Atemakang, Ikot Mbonde, Ikot Obio Atai, and Ikot Andem ministered during the rally.

Then came the final service at 6pm, the farewell convention meeting, preached by Apostle O. U. Okon. His sub-theme, "The Dangers of Neglecting the Known Voice," from 1 Kings 13:11 to 25, Genesis 34, Hebrews 3:8 to 12, and Revelation 3:7 to 8, was a sobering reminder even as the convention drew to a close, that hearing the voice means nothing without heeding it. Pastor O. O. Archibong led the chorus, Pastor S. J. Umoh handled the scripture reading, and choirs from Ikot Andem, Akon Itam, Atemakang Youth, Ikot Mbonde, Ekritam, Ikot Obio Atai, Ikot Ekwere, Ikot Obio Atai Area Youth, Atemakang, Area Temple, and Major Centre Choir all ministered one final time. Elder Prof N. J. George interpreted, and the Field Evangelist led the closing prayer session.

But it was after the message, in that final farewell moment, that the real joy broke out. Everyone was on their feet, dancing with everything in them, laughter and gratitude filling the field as the convention finally came to an end.

Four days of messages, choirs, prayers, and waiting on His voice, and it all closed not with solemn quiet, but with pure, unfiltered joy. It felt like the perfect way to end, not just hearing the comfort of the known voice all week, but dancing our way out with hearts full of it.
