True Colours 10: Curation Report Week 2

“The death close before me was terrible, but far more terrible than death was the dread of being misremembered after death .”
Charles Dickens
There are moments in a person’s life when the world as we know it is torn apart by hatred, wars and greed. Every generation experiences this at least once. Instead of joining hands or reaching out to others, we turn our backs on them. Let us look out for one another, especially on a social platform like this, and let us not forget those who once cared for us, supporting them wherever possible. Without other people, this platform has no reason to exist just like you.
It's the Chinese year of the horse
It stands for freedom
Creativity is freedom and you have the right to draw outside the lines.
NOMINATIONS
Nomination 1
Artist: @manuel2395
Post
Hashtag: digitalart
Nominated by: wakeupkitty
He is an active digital artist who creates numerous characters, explaining the steps he takes along the way. The only thing we’re waiting for now is for those characters to appear together in his own comic.
"For the concept and lore behind this piece, I wanted to create an aura of dark mysticism. I portrayed the priestess turning over her shoulder with a calm, controlling stance while holding one of her hypnotized ravens on her outstretched hand. I gave her short greyish hair, pale skin, and glowing crimson eyes that match the hypnotic gaze of the raven, showing the magical bond between them as black feathers float mysteriously around her back and shoulders."

Nomination 2
Commenter: @foxkoit
Comment
Hashtag: steem
Nominated by: solperez
@foxkoit comments on the "qualitative" value of a platform like Steemit for interacting with other users worldwide. Furthermore, he emphasizes that focusing solely on receiving support from "whales" is absurd, because they can abandon you whenever they want. In contrast, your readers will always return to your blog.
"Don't infest your blog pages before figuring out how to attract more user interaction. If you have more users around you who come, comment, and interact with you, there will be less of a problem with empty days with posts and upvotes in the long run if you want to get more upvotes in the long term."

Nomination 3
Commenter: @marcybetancourt

@marcybetancourt comments on paholags' film review of "Black Swan," in which she takes on the challenge of changing the film's tragic ending, in which Natalie Portman, under psychotic effects, physically harms herself, to one where the actress receives a standing ovation, compensating for all the effort she put into portraying the character. Marcy Betancourt acknowledges that the world of the arts can be demanding, to the point of making us lose control of our emotions. However, she recognizes that paholags' proposed ending is more hopeful.
"Your finale offers the dancer the chance to savor her effort, the long hours of rehearsal, the thought that after the premiere there will be more performances, and, why not, a love of life.
You also offer the joy of applause, which is no small thing..."

Nomination 4

Nominated by: wakeupkitty
It’s not easy being ill, having to rely on your mum and, at the same time, looking for a job you can manage. Being ill doesn’t mean you’re a bad employee, and the same goes for this newcomer to Steemit.
"I am always feeling cold, especially at night and in the mornings...
I have some health issues that require both major and minor surgeries, but I cannot afford them. I lost my job because of these health challenges, and the only type of job I can realistically do right now is remote work.
One minute, I can be fine, active and all over the place, and the next minute, I can barely lift a finger."

Nomination 5
Artist: almaguer
Post

Nominated by: solperez
Is it the artist’s imagination at work, the chaos on the island of Cuba, the lack of everything, a story with a hidden message, or simply an account of life written in the dead of night?
"We have earthquakes in this part of the world. The earth claims its children, extends death’s hand to them, and buries them with respect... We had the task of stacking all the wood. But they have stopped sending us fuel. Transportation has come to a halt. The cities have turned off their lights... Civilization has stopped. We have returned to hunting organisms, gathering snails and small weeds. It would be fair to break some rules To become human again. To rescue the strokes. The canvas...
The pelicans have left. Their time is over. They flew away, cawing, breaking the silence. They will return next season, as a symbol that we exist."

Nomination 6

Comment

Nominated by: wakeupkitty
In a poll on Steemit is asked: Is Steemit what you imagined it would be? The commenter answered a friend introduced him and the platform gives him the opportunity to practice writing. A new question arose about what made him collecting quotes.
"I started collecting quotes during my primary school days. One day, once upon a time, my form teacher wrote something on the board. He said that was a proverb. He explained what a proverb is, and the meaning of the proverb. I can’t remember which proverb it was. I wish I did. Anyway, I was impressed that a simple sentence could contain so much meaning. It also sounded beautiful and poetic. From then on, I was hooked on proverbs."

In a reply to a Steemian who had shared a post about his father, the commenter recounts a period from his childhood in Belgium, including the rise of the computer, about which Bill Gates had said it would never be found in every household. Links are added to find back information spoken about. He also takes stock of his life in the wake of interference from third parties, including the social services.
"Eriksson was going to unite dietsland ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bert_Eriksson ) and there was more hardware in this town alone than you get in a bad hood in anderlecht today, maybe more like you get in all of brussels ... even the cops were in on it, collecting nazi artifacts and all that . They stuck me 10 years in a militarist youth movement (i think to cure me from introvert ... a bad disease you dont want your kids to have)... one thing Is dont have is regrets, I can only regret decisions that werent made for me...
sadly its belgium, the land of no portunity"

My heart sank when I saw the fallen buildings in your country.
It seems the North is determined to destroy all the towns and villages to plunder and destroy their riches. Modern man remains as foolish as at the beginning of time; he is so easily deceived with false promises.
With the same ones from 10 centuries ago.
I hope everyone I know is well.
