The Diary Game – A Blessed Friday with the Recitation of Surah Yasin
Good afternoon and warm greetings to all Steemians, wherever you may be. How are you doing today? I hope you are all in good health and under the protection of Allah SWT, enabling you to carry out your daily activities smoothly. I am back to share some of my activities from this wonderful day.
Alhamdulillah, I woke up upon hearing the adhan (call to prayer) echoing from the loudspeakers of the Babul Huda Mosque in Panggoi. Our home where my beloved family and I have lived for nearly a decade is situated very close to the mosque. Consequently, every call to perform the obligatory prayers, especially the Subuh (dawn) prayer, can be heard clearly and melodiously. On this Friday morning, filled with blessings and the mercy of Allah SWT, I began my routine activities just as on any other day. Friday is a truly special day for all Muslims without exception.
It is a day marked by significant events in Islamic history: the creation of Prophet Adam (AS), his entry into and subsequent expulsion from Paradise, and the belief that the Day of Judgment will also occur on a Friday. The adhan serves as a call for all Muslims to promptly fulfill their religious obligations. Neglecting this call by failing to pray immediately means one falls short of being a perfect Muslim, regardless of the reason. For the past two days, it has just been little Raffa and me at home, as his mother is away on an out-of-town work assignment. As a result, I performed my dawn prayer at home.
After praying, I used the time to rest by lying down next to Raffa, who was still fast asleep. While lying beside my son, I picked up my smartphone to catch up on the latest news from various online media outlets. Modern digital technology makes it incredibly easy to access the latest information in mere seconds. However, this same sophistication makes people vulnerable to hoaxes if they are not careful in selecting and discerning the information they consume. On this bright Friday morning, as the clock neared 7:00 AM and after finishing breakfast, I headed out to work. Alhamdulillah, my commute to the school was smooth and free of any obstacles.
Although I do not have a scheduled class on Fridays for the odd semester of this new academic year, I still head to school in the morning. I am required to participate in the routine activity of reciting Surah Yasin alongside all the students and other teachers. Afterward, I relaxed with some other teachers until just before noon, when I left the school grounds to pick up little Raffa from daycare. I then returned home to get ready for Friday prayers. Upon hearing the announcement from the mosque, I headed there to attend the service. After prayers, I simply rested at home until waking up just before the Asr prayer. In the evening, I carried out my usual routine while keeping little Raffa company as he played.
That sums up my activities on this wonderful day; thank you, as always, for the support of all my fellow Steemit friends, wherever you may be.
Regards,
@fadlymatch
