Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Commemoration Meeting
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of this beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
This meeting is to welcome and commemorate the birthday of the great Prophet Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), especially in our village mosque. In fact, this has been held several times. Besides commemorating the Prophet's birthday, we have many other agendas to commemorate the Prophet's birthday this year.
Our first meeting, led by our village mosque committee and immediately attended by the community, took place about a week ago. At this inaugural meeting, our deliberations were solely to determine how we would celebrate the birthday this year.
The meeting continued several nights ago, with the entire core committee discussing the work program, focusing on the important agenda items we had agreed upon at the previous meeting. Among the programs we discussed to enliven and commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday this year were:
1. Children's Competitions
The children's competitions we planned to enliven the Prophet's birthday this year included various competitions such as the call to prayer (adhan), memorization of short surahs (Quran), quizzes, and so on. These competitions also served as an agenda to explore the potential of children in our rural areas in terms of religious understanding and the courage to appear in public.
2. Assistance to Orphans and Destitutes
Supporting orphans by giving them special attention on the Prophet's birthday is a form of our love for children who no longer have a father or mother. Donating to orphans is a sacred activity on the day of commemoration of the birthday of the great Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasallam.
3. Islamic Da'wah
Islamic da'wah, which takes place the evening after the Prophet's birthday commemoration, is an equally exciting event within the commemoration and celebration of the Prophet's birthday. This program must be thoroughly discussed to ensure its optimal implementation.
In the first meeting, we formed core committees to oversee each aspect of the celebration of the Prophet's birthday. The committee members we agreed on are as follows:
a. Chairperson
b. Field Chairperson
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Equipment/Venue Section Chair
f. Catering Section Chair
g. Competition Section Chair
h. Islamic Da'wah Section Chair, and many others.
The main purpose of the Maulid commemoration is to foster love and respect for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It also aims to emulate his morals and behavior in daily life. From the commemoration of the Prophet's Birthday, each of us can take valuable lessons and wisdom for living this life.
