SLC31-W3 || Our Surroundings A Series of Real Life Experiences ; Mosque & Temple
I am going to discuss Jamia Muhammadiya Faridiya Mosque. This mosque is located in the middle of our city's market, around which and in front of it, you will see various shops. As you can see from its main exterior, this mosque has been built backwards, and in front of it, some general shops and some vegetable shops have been built. This is its simple main exterior, on top of which you will see solar panels used to provide electricity to the mosque. Further, its exterior has been made simple and plain.
I had come to visit this market, so it was time for the noon prayer. I went to this mosque to offer the noon prayer. It is located about three kilometers from us. You can go through these 3 kilometers by motorcycle. Rickshaw service is available. Van service is available. And you can easily cover this journey on foot in 10 to 15 minutes. In this way, I reached here on a motorcycle.

When we enter the mosque through the main gate, we see a small corridor with stairs. On one side, there are stairs that lead to the upper hall. On the other side, there is the mosque, which is the main hall of the mosque. On its left side, there is a place for ablution to perform prayers, and next to it, there is a small madrasa where children sit and recite the Holy Quran.

The interior of the mosque is beautifully designed. Its theme is green. If you look at the floor below, you will see green carpets. Similarly, if you look at the walls, there are also green carvings and patterns. It is beautifully designed. At noon, there were very few worshippers here. Some people were resting here. I took a picture of it during this time. It is simply beautiful and a good creative design.

The roof of the mosque has also been beautifully designed. The ceiling is of the best quality, and chandeliers have been installed in it at various places, and a fan has been installed at each corner, which provides excellent air to the worshippers throughout the entire space. Some designs have also been generated in its ceiling in such a way that it looks like wood, although it is not wood, but rather it is simple and made of ceiling.

A pulpit has been made in the middle of this mosque. This is the pulpit where the Imam sits and delivers the sermon and his speech. On Fridays, it is covered with a cloth to protect it from the Urdu dust because this pulpit is very important for us. On one side, you can see a microphone standing. In this microphone, the muezzin offers the five daily prayers, or if any important announcement needs to be made, it is done through this microphone. On one side, a window has been made to keep the Holy Quran.

As I mentioned, chandeliers have been used in various places. These chandeliers are of different designs. A high-quality chandelier is installed in the middle, and small chandeliers are installed on the sides. Thus, the chandelier that I am showing below is white in color and more small flowers have been made around it, which perfectly match the color of the ceiling and express their beauty.

A large digital clock has been installed on the right side of the mosque. This digital clock shows all the prayer times. Below it is a scroller that runs all the time, and on it, you get to see all the information about the day, year, and month. Next to this clock, you can see a large speaker. This speaker is to convey the sound to all the people so that when there is a lot of rush, the Imam's voice can reach every worshipper.

There are various chairs kept in the mosque, which are for all those who are disabled or in old age, because disabled people cannot pray standing up. Similarly, elderly people also pray sitting down, so these chairs have been provided for them so that they can come and pray in a comfortable manner.

Small spaces have been created in different parts of the mosque where different types of hats are kept. These hats are for use during prayer because your head should be covered during prayer. That is why some people come here on the way because this is a mosque in the market. After taking a bath in the market, there are no hats. This facility has been provided in the mosque itself. People come, perform ablution, cover their heads with this hat, and pray.

Similarly, there are different boxes kept inside the mosque. These boxes are located in different places, and the purpose of these boxes is that you can store your shoes here. Sometimes it is very hot outside, and the shoes get damaged in the sun, and to prevent them from getting dirty further, you can store your shoes inside your mosque and keep them inside the box to save them.

Just as the interior of the mosque is beautiful, so is the exterior. When viewed from the corridor outside, its design is beautiful. Fans have been installed outside. The inner hall has also been decorated with beautiful stones. All the things have been written on the walls using this stone, including various verses. There is a statue of the Kaaba, and the tomb of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is also present here in the form of a picture. All these things have been mapped on the walls.

The mosque also has a second entrance that leads to the other street of the market. If you look up from here, you will see beautiful trees planted on one side and some flowering plants. When it is the rainy season, the beauty blooms here and spreads its fragrance. On one side, you can see the mosque. The main purpose of planting trees here is to provide shade and coolness inside the mosque.

When we enter the mosque from the main entrance, we see the ablution room on the left side. This ablution room provides the facility of performing ablution for 40 to 50 people at a time. Many chairs have been installed here so that people can perform ablution sitting here. In front of it, the prayer that you have to recite after performing ablution is also written on the wall. Thus, the mosque administration has made every effort to provide every kind of facility.

From where we can see the second entrance, there are washrooms on the back side. A separate door has been installed for the washroom to keep it separate. In front of this washroom, three taps have been installed where people can sit and do their laundry. Furthermore, a water cooler has been installed here, which provides filtered cold water to the people. This facility is also very good here.

Today I visited Jamia Muhammadiya Faridiya Mosque. This mosque is located in the famous market Naiwala Road of Harappa Station. This mosque is open 24 hours. Here, people offer five daily congregational prayers. In addition, Friday congregational prayers are also offered. Various children come here and recite the Holy Quran. They memorize the Holy Quran. The Qari Sahib provides them with more knowledge.
The biggest convenience is that the people who are sitting in this market and running their businesses, when the call to prayer is given, they immediately leave their businesses and come here to pray. Along with their businesses, they are also improving their religion and the hereafter. This is one of the best facilities of this mosque. Furthermore, the children who learn from here and memorize the Holy Quran are also improving their intellect.

If we talk about the history of this mosque, then it is a very old mosque. Since the time when this market, which is called Harappa Station, has been inhabited, this Jamia Muhammadiya Faridiya Mosque has also been inhabited. I usually come here in the afternoon, when it is prayer time, and I pray here. And if it is Friday, I pray here. Therefore, I have a lot of interaction with this mosque.

The administration of this mosque is excellent. Each person has been assigned separate responsibilities so that the system of this mosque can be improved. A muezzin has been appointed here who gives the call to prayer five times a day, invites people to prayer, and, what is more important, he also makes all the announcements that are made officially, or if any death is announced, all that is the responsibility of the muezzin. Furthermore, the muezzin also has to clean the mosque, arrange for cleanliness, and is also a reference for all the things inside.
The role of the Imam here is that he comes, leads the congregational prayers, gives a sermon on Fridays, and provides people with Islamic information about religion and the world.
Furthermore, the Imam of the mosque is a Hafiz of the Holy Quran. He conveys the Holy Quran to the people. Like small children who come here, they recite the Holy Quran, they memorize the Holy Quran. All those children study under the supervision of Iman Sahib, and they are given the best knowledge.
Just as the mosque has been made artificially beautiful, every effort has been made to make the mosque naturally beautiful and perfect. This mosque is located in the middle of the market, whose area is not very large, but still a little space has been left from its other entrance, which is for air, so that the interior of the mosque remains cool. Trees have also been planted on its side. These trees provide a lot of shade, and flowers have also been planted, which welcome all those who come through their fragrance. This mosque has been made naturally beautiful with these plants.
