School Name

I am a teacher at one of the state schools in Lhokseumawe. I have been teaching at this school for almost 16 years. During that time, I have seen many changes in the education system. I have also witnessed the development of the school’s facilities and infrastructure.

The school where I teach is called Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 4 Kota Lhokseumawe, or MIN 4 Kota Lhokseumawe for short. Almost every day I come to this school to carry out my duties as a teacher. This madrasah was established in the 1970s. To this day, the school continues to develop and has become one of the most popular schools in Lhokseumawe.

Location and Distance

MIN 4 Lhokseumawe is situated in the centre of Lhokseumawe. From my home, the journey to this school takes about 10 minutes. As it is located in the city centre, the school is accessible by various modes of transport.

Its strategic location makes MIN 4 Lhokseumawe easy to reach. There are also several leading secondary schools in the vicinity.

School Environment

Generally speaking, MIN 4 Lhokseumawe is situated in a densely populated neighbourhood. It is also located some distance from the main road. These conditions ensure a quieter learning environment every day. As it is situated in an educational district, the school is able to focus more on teaching and learning activities.

MIN 4 Lhokseumawe covers an area of approximately 2,123.36 square metres. The school has 21 rooms. Thirteen of these are used as classrooms. The remaining rooms consist of the staff room, the headteacher’s office, the administrative office and a place of worship.

The school also has 10 toilets spread across several locations. In addition, there is a school playground used as a gathering place for pupils. This playground is often used for assemblies and various other school activities.

School Activities

MIN 4 Lhokseumawe has more than 48 teachers and administrative staff. The school also has more than 500 pupils currently enrolled. The pupils are in Years 1 to 6 of primary school.

Key Information

1️⃣Changes to the Education Infrastructure

There is a significant problem at MIN 4 in Lhokseumawe. This problem relates to the classrooms. In recent years, three classrooms on the second floor have fallen into disuse. These rooms were previously used by Year 4 pupils for teaching and learning activities.

The cause is that the second-floor structure has suffered severe damage. When the classrooms were still in use, vibrations from the upper floor could be felt all the way down to the ground floor. Several sections of the ground floor have also developed cracks. Furthermore, the supporting steel beams have begun to rust and some of their protective coating has flaked off.

Important news from the last six months regarding the renovation of a school whose foundations have been damaged

Due to these conditions, the madrasah is collaborating with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Public Works Department to plan a complete renovation of the MIN 4 Lhokseumawe building. Currently, the process of obtaining approval and recommendations from the central government is still ongoing. Once all approvals have been finalised, the renovation work will commence immediately.

2️⃣Inclusion and Acceptance of Pupils

This year, the number of applicants at MIN 4 in Lhokseumawe City remains quite high. I am also a member of the new student admissions committee. This academic year, the school has admitted around 96 new pupils. They have been divided into four classes.

MIN 4 Lhokseumawe does not operate a catchment area system. The school accepts applications from various regions and from a diverse range of social backgrounds. The main requirements are that prospective pupils must be at least six years old and must submit all the necessary administrative documents.

3️⃣Student Graduation

This year, MIN 4 Lhokseumawe successfully saw around 99 Year 6 pupils graduate. The pupils’ final exam results were also highly satisfactory.

According to available information, many graduates of MIN 4 Lhokseumawe have been accepted into leading schools with selective admission processes. This is one of the achievements consistently attained by MIN 4 Lhokseumawe graduates every year.

4️⃣Technology in Education

In line with the ever-evolving developments in digital technology, MIN 4 Lhokseumawe continues to innovate and transform into a digital-based school. Currently, most of the upper-level classes have begun to utilise digital technology in the learning process.

One such class is the one I teach. In this class, the teaching and learning process utilises laptops and implements digital-based learning. Essential facilities, such as an internet connection, are also available in every classroom. This helps ensure that digital learning activities run smoothly.

5️⃣Cryptocurrency in Education

In almost all educational institutions in Indonesia, including MIN 4 in Lhokseumawe, the use of cryptocurrency in education has not yet been implemented.

Government regulations and policies remain one of the main obstacles to integrating cryptocurrency into the education sector. However, with technological advancements and the benefits offered by cryptocurrency, its use in education may well become a reality in the future.

6️⃣Environmental Impact

So far, the facilities and infrastructure at MIN 4 in Lhokseumawe City are still considered adequate. The issues I outlined earlier remain the biggest challenges currently faced. However, solutions to these problems are beginning to emerge and are still awaiting implementation.

Healthy exercise activities for pupils

A clean school environment and a child-friendly school concept are among the top priorities at MIN 4 in Lhokseumawe. Programmes focusing on health, hygiene, tolerance and the prevention of bullying continue to be implemented alongside efforts to improve the quality of education at the school.
