What recent social and/or cultural events have taken place in your community?

A year ago, I talked about running a second degree in accounting, which was the journey that I myself and my departmental coursemates started around April 2025 and came to an end today, being 30th June 2026.

Academic success is the social event that took place at the Federal University of Lafia. This achievement is a great academic success that started some years ago, and today we are celebrating the successful completion of the program. My coursemates and I are entirely happy for this great achievement, as we all started it together and achieved academic success together without leaving anyone behind.

After our final examination, which ended around 6 pm, we came outside and started celebrating ourselves, and some people took personal photos with loved ones before we then took group photos outside of the school premises.

What cultural initiatives are being promoted by community or government organizations in your area for the coming months?

The Federal University of Lafia often promotes culture and tradition in the school, especially during students' week, matriculation, and graduation period. For the coming months, when the school will be admitting new students,s there are going to be cultural activities both in the school and outside the school.

Also, the state government often promotes and encourages organisations to promote culture, especially the culture and traditions of the state. This is being done to promote ethnicity and make people value their culture.

What challenges are cultural event organizers currently facing in keeping local traditions alive?

The challenges that cultural event organisers are currently facing in keeping local traditions alive are venue/event centre, finance, and cultural attire and materials.

The community and even the institution are making use of small multipurpose spaces for cultural activities, which most of the time organisers find it difficult to keep items and materials for cultural activities. There is no storeroom where organisers can keep their cultural attire safe.

What social or grassroots movements are gaining prominence in the streets of your city or region?

The social or grassroots movement gaining prominence in the streets of my city is the political movement for the two newly formed political parties in Nigeria.

The ADC and NDC political parties are the grassroots movements that are gaining prominence as the election is fast approaching in Nigeria; many people are allying with these two political parties.

Could you mention any recent artistic works or projects in your region that might be of public interest?

Well, it is the construction of some roads and flyovers in the state capital of Nasarawa State. In Lafia town, there are newly commissioned roads and a flyover being commissioned by the state governor in the state.

Environmental impact & (With pictures + videos) & Location (Steem Atlas pin)

The Federal University is a big institution that is still developing, and as for the Faculty of Environmental Studies, where the pictures are taken, the environment looks beautiful, but there are some bushes close to the environment which snake and other dangerous animals can hide. These are the threats to the environment, is what I can say.
