Railway station from a long distance

Kamalapur Railway Station was first established in 1856. At that time, the British ruled this country. After that, it was renovated several times. Two architects came here from faraway America to design a beautiful station. One of them was Daniel Dunham, and the other was Bob Bui. Both were architects from the renowned Louis Berger Group. They wanted a design that would be innovative, as well as a large-scale structure that would be suitable for the climate of the region. The design was very challenging to build according to the plan. They designed an unusual concrete structure for the roof of the station building, as well as a structure that had an umbrella-like shape. The shape combines a row of interconnected structures facing downwards. The outline of the terminal creates a rhythmic pattern of gradually tapering and arched shells that evoke a tropical climate. From a distance, it looks like an umbrella protecting from the monsoon rain.

What do you like most about the Railway Station or Bus Station while traveling?

I like traveling by train very much. You can enjoy the beauty of nature sitting by the train window. Bangladesh is called a green and lush country. A large part of the country is still rural. Nature is green and green there. It is as if a green fair has been set up. Also, the lifestyle of the simple people of the village, their markets, farms, etc., can be observed from the train.
In addition to savoring the beauty of nature, it is very pleasant to enjoy the life of the rural people. I enjoy the pleasure of sitting by the train window. With the sound of the train, I also rush towards my destination with the train. Hours pass by, but I do not notice it at all. I am so absorbed in enjoying it.
