I am participating in this contest, SLC31-W5 || Our Surroundings A Series of Real Life Experiences ; Sea, River & Ponds. Thanks to @kibreay001 for organizing such a wonderful contest. I am very happy and excited to participate in this contest.

What type of service location did you visit? Briefly describe it.

I went to Zia Udyan a few days ago with my mother and elder brother. I noticed several big ponds there. The ponds were very big. Such big ponds are not often seen now. Zia Udyan is located in Dhaka city. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It costs 350 tk CNG to go to Zia Udyan from Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station.

Zia Udyan is one of the most beautiful gardens in Bangladesh, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, next to the National Parliament Building. Main entertainment center and park. This park has two large ponds. This park is 74 acres in area. It houses the tomb complex of former President Ziaur Rahman. Ziaur Rahman was buried in Zia Udyan in 1981. The Awami League government changed its name to 'Chandrima Udyan'. Again in March 2025, the interim government changed its name again and reinstated it as 'Zia Udyan'. Here are the tombs of Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia. There is a suspension bridge over the pond.

Among the Sea, River and Pond which one’s beauty do you like the most?

There is no river or sea near our house. I have seen ponds since I was little. There are many big ponds in our area. I have bathed in the pond, sat on the bank of the pond and caught fish. In this way, I feel a good feeling towards the pond. Which I do not feel towards the river or the sea. The environment around the pond is calm. I have seen many ponds in our area. I have seen big trees next to almost all the ponds. The environment there is charming because of the trees next to the pond. Anyone wants to spend time by the pond. In our area, a sitting place is made to sit by the pond. To sit and relax by the pond in my free time. That is why ponds are my favorite.

Ponds have a positive impact on the environment. A pond plays a role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. The mud and organic matter at the bottom of the pond store a large amount of carbon, which helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Ponds serve as a habitat for fish, frogs, turtles, snakes, ducks, and various aquatic plants. It maintains the balance of the local ecosystem. The evaporation of the pond water cools the surrounding environment. The pond acts as a natural filter for the environment. It helps keep the water clean by absorbing soil and excess nutrients from rainwater or water from nearby land. During the rainy season, the pond retains excess water and protects the surrounding area from flooding.
