Today I will write about a sweet shop in a small town near my area called Narayanganj and I will pin it up on the Steem Atlas map, I hope everyone will like it.
✓ If you had the opportunity to share a traditional sweet from this shop or street stall with a Steemian friend, what would the sweet be? |
|---|
I went for a walk today in Narayanganj city, as it is quite crowded, and there are all kinds of food shops. One of the various food shops on the side of the road is the sweet shop, as it serves our traditional food. Today's street-side sweet shop is called "Paris Baguette". Since the city of Narayanganj is very crowded, people can eat on the side of the road. There is a seating arrangement inside, there are chairs and tables, so you can happily eat traditional sweets with your family.

If I get the opportunity to share traditional sweets from any street stall or small shop with my Steemian friend @ruthjoe, then I will definitely choose laddu. Because I love everyone's laddus more or less and I have eaten laddus, and its taste is still ingrained in my mind.
As soon as I stood in front of the shop, I saw the freshly made laddus—round, soft, and beautifully colored. It seemed like they would be a lot of fun to eat. Apart from laddus, the shop also has various types of sweets, including -
Malai Sarai
Kshir Chop
Madraji Bhog
Baby Sweets
Kachagolla
Chomchom
Sasthala Laddu
Mihidana Laddu

The shop was clean and tidy, so I liked the atmosphere. The hustle and bustle of people around, the sound of cars being on the side of the road, and the busyness of the shopkeeper—all together created a lively atmosphere. Real joy is hidden in this simple atmosphere, which is sometimes not found even in big places.
The sweets of this shop have been selling well for about 7 years as a street shop. The people of Narayanganj buy sweets from here to eat. Here, everyone buys sweets from this shop for various occasions and to go to the house of relatives. This is a must-try, so everyone first visits this shop to buy sweets. The shop is open from 10 am to 10 pm.
✓ Describe the three most traditional sweets in your town. |
|---|
Sweets are one of the most popular and interesting foods in our country, which we eat with joy.
Among the traditional sweets of my city, there are some that are associated with our culture and emotions along with taste. The three most popular sweets are Rasgulla, Jilapi, and Laddu.
- First of all, let me talk about Rasgulla, which makes my tongue water as soon as I think of it, this sweet is very familiar in our country and is available in almost all sweet shops. Soft, white, and juicy, this Rasgolla melts in your mouth. Its spongy texture and light sweet taste and juice make it different. No event seems complete without rasgulla when a guest arrives or at a special event. Everyone, young and old, loves this sweet.

Jilapi is a sweet that looks like a cake and is available everywhere from roadside stalls to big sweet shops. Eating hot jilapi is a different pleasure, especially jaggery jilapi. When the jillapi is dipped in jaggery syrup, it tastes really amazing.
Laddu is a very traditional sweet of our country, which is often seen on various occasions such as weddings, Eid, or other festivals, and in the homes of the Attiyas. Laddu is usually round, but it becomes attractive because it comes in different colors. Its inside is soft and chewy. Laddu made with gram flour or buckwheat is the most popular. Many times, nuts or raisins are added to it, which enhances the taste.
Overall, as sweet as they taste, they are associated with many beautiful memories and feelings in our lives, so they are not just food, but also an important part of our culture.
✓ Do you prefer to buy your sweets in formal stores or do you feel that street vendors have a more homemade taste? |
|---|
For me, eating sweets is not just limited to taste, but it is also associated with the environment and feeling. So, formal shops and street vendors—both have their own charm, but if I were asked to choose one, I would lean more towards street vendors.
Formal sweet shops are usually clean, beautifully decorated, and have a variety of sweets. The sweets there are made of good-quality, healthy ingredients, and the service is also good. When I go to buy sweets with my family or for a special occasion, I definitely prefer such shops. Because then not only taste, but safety and quality also become important.

But there is a different attraction in the sweets from small shops or stalls on my side of the road. There may not be much decoration here, but there is a kind of homely taste. Many times, sweets are made in front of our eyes—like jilapi bhaja or laddu making—which is nice to look at and also becomes attractive to eat. The taste of those hot sweets is completely different. It feels like I am eating home-made food and it is like nectar food. Another thing is that while eating at a street stall, you get a real, lively atmosphere. The noise of people around, the calls of the shopkeepers, and the movement of ordinary people - all together create a different feeling. This atmosphere sometimes enhances the taste of sweets even more.

However, it is also true that the quality of all street stalls is not the same because there may be a lack of cleanliness, which can be risky for our health. So I try to choose a stall where at least cleanliness is maintained. And this stall is also quite clean. There is a very easy road to Asha here. This stall is a 4-minute walk from Narayanganj Zero Point. The stall has mobile banking and cash for payment. After paying the bill in cash, a money receipt is given. I ate 2 laddus there and the bill was 50 taka. I am listing the prices of some of these sweets below.
