Assalamu Alaikum. Greetings Sri Lankan community. How are you all? I hope by the grace of Allah, you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am also doing well. I pray to Allah that we are always well.

Today I want to talk to you about the lifestyle of the people of our village. Basically, this is the culture of my village and it is a traditional matter.

The month of Baishakh has already started. In the month of Baishakh, a Navanna festival is organized in every village in our house. Especially in the month of Baishakh, new rice grows and the Navanna festival is celebrated in the joy of new rice growing in the month of Baishakh.

Along with the Navanna festival, the women of the village make different types of pithas. They collect rice from the new rice and make different types of pithas with flour. Basically, the month of Baishakh means a day of festival and joy. It is considered a festival month for Bengalis.

There is a lot of sunshine in the month of Baishakh and sometimes it rains. The people of our village live very happily amidst this heavy rain. Especially a few days ago, paddy has been collected from our agricultural lands. After the paddy is collected, the golden crop jute is cultivated in those lands.

Jute has already been cultivated in the agricultural lands and it rains every night. When it rains at night, the farmer has a lot of smiles on his face. In the morning, the farmer collects the weed cleaning machine and goes to the field to remove weeds in the crop land. Although it is very sunny, the farmer cleans all the weeds in his crop land under this sunshine.

I have seen many farmers. After waking up in the morning, the farmers eat rice and go to their agricultural land. After going to the agricultural land, they work tirelessly and work on their land.

Especially when it is past ten in the morning, food is sent from their homes to the fields. The farmers freshen up in the field and take food and then they start their activities again.

After finishing their meals at ten in the morning and working continuously till one in the afternoon, the farmers work on the agricultural land. Then they return home and take a bath and rest for some time. After the rest, each farmer goes to the field again and in the afternoon they complete their activities.

I have seen many. A farmer earns a lot of money in the month of Baishakh. From seven in the morning to one in the afternoon, a farmer is given about 400 taka hajira. And if a farmer works for three hours in the afternoon, he is given 200 taka hajira. In total, a farmer is given a minimum of 600 taka hajira and I think this is too much for a farmer.

Finally, I would like to tell you about the situation and lifestyle of my village in the afternoon. The children of our village are very happy in the afternoon. Since the field is empty now, they go to fly kites in the afternoon.

Afternoon is the time for children to play. When I also go to the field in the afternoon, I really like the beauty of flying kites with the children.

Especially in my childhood, I had many dreams about flying kites. I like seeing such wonderful activities very much.

Finally, I could share with you all the activities of my village. Currently, in the month of Baishakh, farmers are cultivating their golden crops in the field. Along with this, the women of the village are working to improve their own livelihood and the children are flying kites in the afternoon. All in all, I think it carries a wonderful tradition.
