SLC33-W2: My Community, My Story – My Culture Food Stall
Greetings everyone! This Mohammad Sumon! from #Bangladesh
Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well by the grace of the Almighty.
Today, I am very excited to share my entry for the Contest. A special thanks to my friend@josepha, for hosting such an engaging competition.
Spreading positivity and creativity through my words.
My Community, My Story
After the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, the familiar small food stalls around us bring a sense of relief in our daily lives. For me, our local food stalls are not just a place to fill our stomachs, but they are also familiar addresses of love mixed with the stories of our ordinary lives and folk culture. Today, I will share with my friends on Steemit a beautiful moment spent with my family at our favorite Bhai Bhai Hotel on Manikdi Bazar Road.

1. What is the name of the food stall and community, and where is it located? Share the address information of the place also. |
|---|
My favorite local food stall is called Bhai Bhai Hotel. It is located in my local community of Manikdi (Dhaka, Bangladesh).

Food Stall Name: Bhai Bhai Hotel
Community: Manikdi, Dhaka.
Full Address: Manikdi Bazar Road, Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka - 1206, Bangladesh.

In my opinion, the shop is quite easy to find for locals or any passerby, as it is right next to the main road of Manikadi. Since it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it is always crowded throughout the day.
2. What is the traditional or local food you buy or eat from the place? |
|---|
I often go to this restaurant to eat. The biggest speciality of Bhai Bhai Hotel is that everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner is available under one roof.
Popular local dishes available here at different times:
1. Breakfast and afternoon snacks: Paratha, hot jilapi, singara, puri, samucha, chicken roll, chicken bun, Mughlai paratha, etc.
2. Lunch: Steamed rice, dal, various stews, and fish and meat curries.
3. Night specials: Crispy chicken chap, hot naan bread, and other items.

|---|
Since I travel here regularly, I am familiar with almost all the dishes here. I went there with my wife and little daughter on a sweet evening last week. That day, we ordered the special evening snack and dinner:
Spicy Chicken Chaap, Naan Roti, Mixed Vegetables cooked in mild spices and served with special mayonnaise
My daughter Muntaha loves to eat the crispy chicken chaap with naan bread, and my wife enjoyed this light lentil-vegetable mixture with naan bread.
3. Why is the local food popular in your culture or community? |
|---|
I think the main reason for the huge popularity of this hotel in our Manikadi area is its versatile menu and homely taste:
All-in-one food hub: hot paratha or jilapi in the morning, rice and fish in the afternoon, singara-samucha or mughlai in the afternoon and naan-chaap in the night—all the daily needs are fulfilled at one shop.
Creating a mood for chatting: Chatting with friends in the afternoon or evening over singara-jilapi or steaming hot naan-chaap is a great part of our folk culture.
Affordable nutritious food: This shop provides that opportunity for ordinary passersby, daily wage workers and middle-class families to eat fresh food at low cost without spending extra.

4. Describe the ingredients, taste, and how the food is prepared briefly with us |
|---|
I really liked the taste and preparation of the Chicken Chap, Naan Bread and the Vegetables that we ate that day:
| Ingredients: |
|---|
- Chicken Chap: Chicken, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, Jaiphal-Jaytri, special Chap masala, and ingredients for deep frying in hot oil.
![]() |
|---|
- Naan Bread: Flour, a little yeast, sugar, salt, and lukewarm water.
![]() |
|---|
- Vegetables: Light pancha phodan with potatoes and vegetables and a thick broth cooked with cinnamon.
| Food Name | Price (BDT) | Price (STEEM) | Price (USDT) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken Chap | 130 Taka | 26.48 STEEM | 1.06 USDT |
| Naan Bread | 20 Taka | 4.07 STEEM | 0.16 USDT |
| Vegetables | 20 Taka | 4.07 STEEM | 0.16 USDT |

|---|
- Preparation: The hotel's artisans first fry the spiced meat in a large flat pan over low heat for a long time, which results in the onion and spices becoming creamy and giving it a roasted texture. At the same time, the Naan Bread is baked in the tandoor and cut into pieces before being served while soft and fluffy. (Also, they keep singara, puri, and jilapi freshly fried in a separate pot for the afternoon).

|---|
- Taste: The real fun of chicken chap is the great combination of roasted onions and hot spices. Just tearing the naan bread and dipping it in the crispy chicken chap and pink sauce and putting it in your mouth is a wonderful taste sensation.

5. Share with us your experience with the food vendor and the environment. |
|---|
I have a very fond memory of the experience there as I took my family and little girl there.
6. Based on your taste and community lifestyle, would you recommend this food to visitors? Why or why not? |
|---|
I would happily recommend this food stall to any visitor.
Why I recommend it (in my opinion):
A mix of all kinds of food: breakfast (parota, vegetables), afternoon snacks (singara/moglai/roll, jilapi), or dinner naan-chaap—new, fresh items are available at any time.
2. Fresh and hot food: All the food is prepared and served hot in front of your eyes.
Affordable budget: It is possible to enjoy the taste of excellent food with family or friends at a very low cost.
If you ever come to the Manikadi area in Dhaka, do not forget to come to Bhai Bhai Hotel and experience this local taste!

Review:
Chicken Chap, Naan Bread, and the Vegetables all look yummy, and if I were to be your guest, I would prefer eating the chicken chap. Having a good environment makes customers feel happy to eat at the place because a healthy environment promotes good living.
