Filling The Spirit: Little Things That Turn My Mood Around
We all have our good and bad days when all the cares of the world seem to weigh on us. For myself, my own mood really has absolutely nothing to do with reaching huge goals in life, but rather small gestures and situations which can instantly bring my mood up.
A Rush From Growth
The feeling of your effort manifesting into actual results is immense! Whether it's conquering a difficult task in a strategic game or overcoming some complex problem you were faced with, this feeling of being in charge is truly the easiest way to make your day better. To have the ability to take a step back and think "I did that" or "I fixed this" has a satisfaction that stays with you.
A Link to Our Origins
It's such a joyous experience for me to roam around the buzzing market in my neighborhood. All the smells of fresh produces, sellers yelling and the very real feel of picking out fresh yams and dried fish are such a rejuvenation to all my senses! They make me feel more connected to the people and the slow rhythm of life without a screen!
Spreading Joy
Joy can be a multiplier. For me, I feel my greatest bliss when I am able to laugh and share a funny anecdote with family. Whatever it may be – be it celebrating one of my siblings’ successes or just chatting with a cousin on the phone- these familial relationships are what support me in the long run.
Stepping Out Fresh
It’s true that a clean haircut or an outfit that makes you feel put-together are one simple thing that can make all the difference. To have the confidence that you project outside to match what's inside can only do wonders for you. When you look and feel put together, you feel as though you're ready to embrace whatever challenges the week may hold.
Basically, these are the things I find to constitute a happy mood: the advancement of progress, the people I am with, the interpersonal connections I foster, and the uniqueness within me. Through all of these things, I find the fuel for continued excitement and positivism. How's that for a happy mood, though? Spread the positivity.
