SLC31-W3: THE GREEN JOURNEY | Earth Stewardship

Today I am participating in this wonderful competition of Green Journey Challenge organized by Mr. @muzack1 & @bijoy1, through this competition I am trying to talk about our responsibility towards protecting nature and taking care of the environment. So, let's get started.

Today is Tuesday!

The back of my house is surrounded by greenery

My village house is under the Sadar Police Station of the Bhola district. The village environment is usually surrounded by greenery, and I like the greenery. Out of love for nature, I try to plant trees. If you look around my house, you will see different types of trees. Along with ordinary trees, there are flowers and fruit trees in my house, which give us clean air and oxygen. We need air, water, and soil to live healthily. If we do not take care of them properly, our future will be under threat.

My role in protecting the environment

I believe that big changes can be started through small initiatives. To protect the environment, I personally try to reduce the use of polyethylene or plastic. I take a cloth bag from home while going to the market so that I do not have to use polythene. We have planted many trees around my village house after buying land, which helps us get clean air. Also, sometimes when we find tree seedlings in the market, we buy them and plant them at home because, along with clean air, we get trees, a better environment, and fruits.

Waste Management

To make the environment more beautiful and livable, I do not throw the garbage in my house anywhere but put it in a basket in a specific place in the house. Also, I try to put the small garbage in the room in a specific basket, and this makes cleaning the room easier and faster. I try to keep biodegradable garbage and non-biodegradable garbage (such as plastic bottles) separate. In my opinion, if we can plant trees or recycle empty plastic bottles instead of throwing them away, then this will reduce environmental pollution to some extent.

Time with nature and mental health

In the midst of a busy life, that is, when I go to the village from Dhaka, I am close to nature, and my mind becomes very calm. When I go to the village, I try to take care of the trees for a while almost every afternoon. The entire time spent in the village gives me mental peace and helps reduce work pressure. In my opinion, green nature removes the depression of the human mind and provides new energy. Therefore, everyone should at least get lost in green nature; it will improve mental health.

My little message for others

The world is our home, and it is our responsibility to protect it. I would like to request everyone not to throw garbage everywhere and plant at least one tree because trees play the most important role in maintaining the balance of the environment. Our small awareness can leave a beautiful world for the next generation. So, nature gives us everything; in return, just give nature a little care.

My princess on the beautiful village street

In Bangladesh, the government often takes various initiatives to protect nature and take care of the environment. Through this post, I have tried to capture some of the beautiful surroundings of my home and beautiful moments with my daughter, along with the competition. I want to say that the environment is like our mother, and it is the civic responsibility of each of us to protect it. If we are aware today, only then will it be possible to ensure a safe and green world for the next generation.

What you’ve shared is indeed very interesting, especially regarding rural areas with open green spaces. Your focus on waste management through recycling is commendable, but this isn’t reflected in the photos you’ve shared. As for the video, it’s very clean—even though you raise poultry, what you’re doing is certainly a positive thing. Regarding the selfie you shared, it should be a photo related to the challenge you’re participating in, not one from the previous year. This is noted as a photo from 2024. At the very least, what you’re doing is a positive step toward preserving the environment and life on this planet.

Dear @muzack1, Thanks for taking the time to read my post and for your detailed evaluation. Your 8.7/10 rating and constructive feedback are truly encouraging. I appreciate your observations regarding selfies and recycling photos, and I will be more careful moving forward. Thank you again for recognizing my small effort toward protecting the environment.
