The Diary Game:A Visit to the Antenatal Clinic (10/06/2026)

Dear wonderful Steemians @Steem4Nigeria community! I’m excited to share my experience from today’s health presentation at the antenatal clinic. I know you will like it and learn from it as well.

A good number of women attended the session. Before I started the talk, I conducted a medical check on myself, assisted by a student nurse who helped me measure my blood pressure. We began with a short prayer, a customary part of our health facility's routine. Then, I delved into a discussion about nutrition during pregnancy.

I outlined various food groups and their benefits during pregnancy, highlighting carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. I explained what it means to eat healthily and identified the best food choices. I also dispelled common myths surrounding certain foods and fruits believed to cause miscarriage—such as zobo, pineapple, oranges, and snails—clarifying that these can be beneficial when consumed appropriately

At the end of the presentation, the women engaged with questions, and I provided answers to ensure a clear understanding of nutrition. We concluded with words of gratitude and encouragement for them to maintain healthy habits throughout their pregnancies. I thanked the participants for their involvement and urged them to implement the knowledge gained into their daily diets, continue with regular antenatal check-ups, and steer clear of unnecessary food restrictions based on myths. This approach will help foster healthy mothers, healthy babies, and safe pregnancy outcomes.
