What if you spent your whole Life fighting, pushing and chasing your dream but the moment you arrived, you realized you missed the whole fun and point entirely?

This exact question is what Soul pinned on mind and I have looked at Life in a different lens. This movie is not like others which you do watch, enjoy and then forget. Soul sits with you even at midnight making you question how your Life is going.

I would recommend this movie to adults, so they watch it beyond the frame of animations.

This movie was so impactful that it won two Oscars, Best animated feature and Best original score. It was also the first African-American protagonist to be featured on Pixar film.

The movie talks about Joe Gardner a middle school music teacher who is always passionate about music. His dream was always to be become a jazz musician, though his mom kicked against that but that was his dream.

He finally got that dream gig, he was given a chance to perform, it was just a dream come through moment for him, and out of excitement he fell into a manhole and died. I was really sad because he finally got this dream opportunity but out of happiness he lost it.

His Soul went to a place called "The Great beyond", where souls are gone permanently but he tried to escape and accidentally ended up in the "Great Before" where souls are sent to earth if they develop their personalities and spark their purpose. Joe didn't have the Earth badge to get back to earth but he had a plan.

Since 22 wasn't interested in getting to earth, Joe who was now 22's mentor was guiding him to get the earth badge which him, Joe would use to get to Earth. It was a long and difficult period, though fun for 22 but the opposite for Joe.

During their stay and interactions they found a lot that changed their Life. This part I will leave it to answer the remaining questions of the task to make it more detailed and Fun to read.

Honestly, it is the scene where Joe performed finally. After the whole Saga with 22 where his soul got into a car while 22 got into his body. They both experienced Life with this switch and 22 finally enjoyed every little moment. They were both caught and sent back to the great Before, 22 who was angry gave the batch to Joe to come to earth.

Now here is the scene, Joe had a gig to perform and he did excellently well, the audience were touched and his mom excited. He asked Dorothea Williams the jazz musician;

what happens next?

She said, "we will come back tomorrow and do the same thing". His facials changed, which made the woman ask, what's wrong Teach?

He responded, I thought I'd feel different.
This led to the short story the woman gave.

"A young fish goes up to an older fish and says, I'm looking for the ocean.

The older fish looks at him and says, "You're already in it."

The young fish looks around and says
"This? This is just water."

This story leads me to the next question on the task, where the story will be explained.

The whole movie gave a lot of message and I was able to hold most of it. From the story the Jazz musician, Dorothea told Joe about the Fish.

That young fish is me and you, it is us. We are always looking for that happiness, that success, purpose and also the right moment. We always tie these thing to when we make it big we will finally be happy, when I achieve that goal I will be happy and filled fulfilled. But we never knew that we are already in the ocean while searching for it.

Now for the water it is our daily Life, the little moments with spend with our family, the love we show, the meal we enjoy and happiness we have, those little moments we forget to celebrate, that is the ocean we are all hoping to get into.

So, in Life celebrate every little moment no matter how small it is. Life now if very unpredictable, the person that was full of life yesterday might be no more the next day so treat everyone with love and enjoy every moment.

Another message I got was;

Your spark isn't your purpose, it is your reason to Live. The earth badge was not gotten by just finding your purpose but finding a reason and hunger for Life. That desire to show up and experience things was the way.

What Joe found out, the spark wasn't just about trying to be a jazz musician. But it was just the, I want live and enjoy every little moment Life gives me.

I would a 100 times recommend this movie to any one. If you've watched it before maybe as an animated movie or if you skipped the movie because it is animated, I would love you to get back and download, Soul 2020.

This time watch it carefully and understand the reason for each step someone takes or each statement someone makes in the movie.

Why would I recommend this movie? We listen to motivational speakers, they yell that we should work hard to reach the top and get that goal. But what if you get to that top and it is still not enough, you can't find the happiness you thought you would find after reaching the top?.

This movie, soul gives you that purpose to enjoy and celebrate every little moment of your Life. I would recommend this movie so you'll see life differently and probably Enjoy every little moment of your Life.
