Scene-1: First meeting

Friends are chatting on the college grounds. Mahadi is sitting on one side and reading a book. Suddenly Sunny walks by. She has a few books in her hand.
A book falls to the ground.
Mahadi hands over the book and says—
Mahadi: “Your book has fallen.”
Sunny: “Oh, thank you.”
This small conversation is like the beginning of the biggest story of their lives.
Days go by. From meeting to talking, from talking to friendship, and from friendship to love.

Scene-2: Days of love
Place: College grounds, roadside tea shop, library

Mahadi and Sunny study together. Sometimes they sit side by side quietly; sometimes they dream about the future.
One day Sunny says—
Sunny: “Mahadi, what do you want to be in the future?”
Mahadi: “I want to be an engineer. And you?”
Sunny: “I want to be a teacher. I will teach small children.”
Mahadi smiles and says—
Mahadi: “So you are a teacher, and I am an engineer. Tell me what our family will be like?”
Sunny lowers her head in shame.
Sunny: “First fulfill your dream, then talk about your family.”
Both laugh.

Scene-3: The test of time
Years pass.

Sunny completes her master’s degree in English and starts teaching in a primary school. Mahadi also completes his studies and joins the job as an electrical engineer.
Both of their lives change. They become busier. They don’t talk every day like before.
One night, Sunny says on the phone—
Sunny: “Mahadi, you have changed a lot.”
Mahadi: “I haven’t changed. Only the responsibilities have increased.”
Sunny: “Our relationship is also a responsibility?”
Mahdi is silent for a while.
Mahadi: “No, Sunny. The dream of having you is still the same as before.”

Scene-4: Ten years later
Place: Outside Mahadi’s office

Friend Rakib is talking to Mahadi.
Rakib: “It’s been ten years. How much longer will you wait?”
Mahadi smiles softly and says—
Mahadi: “I just want to marry her. I want a beautiful ending to our love so far.”
Rakib says—
Rakib: “Then talk now.”
That night, Mahadi calls Sunny.
Mahadi: “Sunny, can we make our dream come true this time?”
There is a long silence on the other side.
Sunny: “Mahadi... not all dreams come true.”
Mahadi’s smile fades.
Mahadi: “What happened?”
Sunny says while crying—
Sunny: “I tried a lot. But some situations are stronger than we want.”

Scene-5: Last seen
Place: A quiet park
Time: Evening

Mahadi and Sunny sit face to face to say the last words of their ten-year relationship.
Both have tears in their eyes.
Mahadi: “Even after ten years, am I still so distant from you?”
Sunny shakes her head and says—
Sunny: “No. You are one of the closest people in my life. But not all close people are found in life.”
Mahadi: “Then what will happen to our love?”
Sunny wipes her tears and says—
Sunny: “There will be love. Only we will not be together.”
Mahadi cannot give any answer.
Sunny slowly gets up and leaves.
Mahadi looks on.
A sad tune starts playing in the background.

Scene-6: A few years later

Mahadi is now a successful electrical engineer. Busy life. But old memories sometimes stop him.
One day he goes to an area for office work.
Suddenly his car stops in front of a primary school.
A teacher is standing in front of the school gate with a few children.
Mahadi looks.
He recognizes it—
Sunny.
Sunny also sees Mahadi.
The two lock eyes.
All the sounds around him seem to stop suddenly.
Sunny smiles softly.
Mahadi also smiles.
But no one goes near anyone.
The last scene
Mahadi gets in the car and leaves. He looks back for the last time through the car window.
Sunny is still standing in front of the school gate.
Tears well up in Mahadi's eyes.
Mahadi's voice in the voiceover—

“Some people come into our lives to start a beautiful story. But not all stories end together. Sunny is the story of my life, the ending of which I wanted to be different. Yet even after ten years, she is still in my memory just as before.”

The car slowly moves away.
The screen goes black.
At the end, the text appears—
“Some loves never end, only the journey together ends.”

No, I don't think the film I wrote is worthy of receiving a major film award. Because it is basically a love story from my own life, which is written like a short story. It doesn't have a big cinematic arrangement, a complex plot, or many characters. The main theme of the story is love, long-term relationships, separation, and the pain of not getting it.

However, even if it is not worthy of receiving an award, the story is special to me. Because the feelings in the story come from my own life experiences. So a viewer may find their own feelings of love, memories, or a lost relationship in the story. For me, this is the biggest value of this short film.
