If I Could Change One Thing
Good morning everyone. Warm greetings to all the friends of the Steam4Nigeria community. I hope you are all healthy. When we think about the days left in life, we all have different feelings. Through this wonderful competition today, I will share with you a true story of my life that I would like to change if I had the chance. Below are my thoughts in light of the competition questions.

1. One thing from my past that I would like to change:
People make many mistakes in life, but the biggest regret for me is— "Delaying the fulfillment of my dreams by worrying too much and not taking advantage of opportunities." If I could go back a few years from now, I would change that fearful and hesitant being of mine. At that time, I used to think so much about the results before starting any work that the main work would not be done. I want to change this "paralysis of analysis" or habit of over-analyzing.
2. Why do I want to change it and what went wrong?
I want to change it because at that time I didn't realize how fast time flies. Towards the end of my student life, I had many creative jobs and opportunities to learn new skills. But I always thought, "Can I do this?" or "What if people laugh?" Because of this fear, I didn't take on many good projects. The mistake was in my mindset. I thought I had to be absolutely perfect to be successful. I wasted 3-4 very valuable years of my life in this cycle of perfectionism, which I feel very much now. If I had dared to start things at that time, my career and life would be much more organized today.

3. What did I learn from that experience?
This bitter experience has taught me one of the biggest and most valuable lessons in life. I have realized that "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." I have learned that failure is not a matter of fear, but sitting idle is the real failure. People's words or criticism are temporary, but the untimely death of one's dreams is a lifelong sigh. Now I know that if you don't do the work of time on time, only regret remains. Waiting for the perfect time is actually just an excuse to waste time.
4. How did that moment shape me today?
That whim and regret of the past has shaped me into a completely new person today. Now I don't put off any work anymore. Now, when an opportunity comes in front of me, I no longer think with "buts", "ifs" or "thens". Today, I am much braver and like to take risks. I now believe that making mistakes in something means that you are learning. The regret of those days left behind reminds me every moment of how precious time is. So now I try to make the most of each day and believe in myself. The confident me of today is actually a transformed form of that past mistake.
Finally, I would like to say that we cannot change the past even if we want to, but we can definitely change the present by learning from the past. If you like this article of mine, then please let me know.
I am inviting 3 of my friends to participate in this competition:
