SC-S33/W1-Movie Diaries | My Favorite Movie of All Time (40 Acres)
The movie challenge is back again😀 and am happy to participate in this week's challenge; "Favourite movie of all time". I have seen so many movies and I sure do have favourites but for this week's challenge, I'll be talking about the movie "40 Acres". This movie turned out to be my favourite this week not because of it's action but for the message it portrays about family, staying alive and resilience.

Briefly, the film follows a small family attempting to survive in a post-apocalyptic world of plagues and war. The movie stars Danielle Deadweiler who delivered a strong performance as Hailey (ex-soldier & a mother), her indigenous partner Galen, and their four children, living on their own farm which happens to be their home and where they grow food to eat. At that time, farm land happens to be a valuable commodity, anybody can kill to have it. Hailey and her family must fight to defend their property at all cost from raiders.
Hailey sees anyone from the outside as a threat. But, who could blame her?
Despite their grim reality, this family does feel normal. Each child is assigned chores and tasks they have to do around the house and also they are learn survival skills meant to keep them alive and keep their property safe.

The film focuses more on family bonding. Hailey is clearly the heart of this family and she's very much focused on keeping this family safe. Hailey, never lets her guard down, but still yearns for companionship and the warmth of her family.
But after their son Manny brought in a beautiful young woman who came with both hope and danger, threatening everything that this family has worked so hard to protect.
Explain how it impacts you?

The movie made me to understand what it means standing together in tough times, the importance of family bonding, team work, and not giving up. just like Hailey & her family did, they had each others back and this helped them defend home from the outsiders trying to invade it.
Another knowledgeable impact "40 Acres"
had on me was that It made me appreciate the value of love, unity, planning, courage and understanding are all necessary within the family. These are lessons that will stick with me for long.
What was your best scene?
The first scene of the movie showed when some group of men invaded their farm land and I was really impressed the way the family engaged the sudden situation. They all knew their role and played it every well, another thing to take into consideration was how calm they stayed even under pressure, and worked as a team. It tells a lot the importance of trust & planning in the faced with uncertainty.

The ending of the movie was another scene I liked. Following another attack on their farm, this time the family was outnumbered but yet they didn't give up. They had to strategize with determination and courage, to defeat these set of bad guys and gained control of their farm.
