SLC-S31/W2-“Creative Interpretation| The Phrase (Almost There)”
Rocky always wanted to be a playback singer. He was passionate for this since his childhood days and now he is a young boy. Recently he learned from his friend that a singing talented show coming to his city next week for an audition.
The judges of that singing talent show will select some talented singers and will give them offer later for next three rounds of challenge. Whoever will pass those three challenges will get a chance to do playback singing, will get chances to perform in concerts and many more opportunities to explore.
Rocky was good at playing guitar and his voice was great. He was super excited to take part on the singing challenges and the platform can help his to chase his dream. Rocky wants to be a shining star in rock music and he practicing very hard.
Rocky was talented so there was not doubt that he will pass audition round and got a ticket for next round. There are 9 more singers selected from different cities and total 10 selected but the one who will pass all 3 rounds will be the winner.
It was grand finale time when Rocky was competing with two more passionate singer candidates. He was almost there to be a winner. He was nervous because sometimes it's all about luck and public voting for singers will be count to choose the finalist.
He gave his 100% effort and now it's result time. Judges were confident that Rocky will win, but unfortunately it was not Rocky's day, he was almost there but the winner got an extra public vote and won the competition.
Rocky was young and smart and he accept the result when all was shocked that how he missed the crown of winner. Rocky said, "There is always a second chance, there is always a tomorrow, I was almost there but it was not my day, today! I'll keep my passion alive for music and I'll shine my way!"
Judges got teary eyes listening Rocky's wise speech when he was almost a winner but accepted the finale result that was not in his favor.
Is your interpretation positive, negative, or mixed? Explain.
Yeah, my interpretation is positive. People usually get mad when they lose a chance that took a lots of efforts but the character of my story "Rocky" was not only a young passionate musician but also a wise, cool and calm person who can accept temporary failure and can keep moving forward with his passion or goal.
What does “almost” teach about patience or persistence?
This piece of story focused on teaching patience and persistence both as Rocky was almost a winner and he is not broken even strong enough to keep practicing this to achieve success next time. The word "Almost" is a hope and encouragement for many of us and we shouldn't give up for temporary falling down. We can raise and shine, maybe not today but definitely someday soon!
Share a personal or imagined scenario that connects to your piece.
The story I've generated in my mind and I'm a human being who met many colorful people in this world already. Yes, I met humble, calm people who knows how to accept failure and move on. The story is already a imagined scenario itself from my side.
My personal connection with this piece of story can be about positive, humble and wise people I met in my real life, it's a tribute to all wise people who knows how to react when they missed a chance even when they are almost there to win.
