Hello my dear Steemians,

What is that one thing you wish you could change in your past?

When I think about the past I recall my time when I was in school, I had my first friend in my first class. We immediately found each other interesting because we both had an interest in ballet and also love to sing. We discovered shortly after we started our first year. During first four years we were best friends and visited each other for sleep over parties and enjoyed the time together playing in our gardens in her or my house. That time I thought we will be friends forever. Shortly after finishing primary school she moved away and we saw each other randomly for the first couple of years, but slowly we stopped that and until now I completely lost my contact with my first great school friends.

Why do you wish you could change it? What went wrong?

Once we grow we do not pay attention to some things that we do not consider important, because as children we have new events, new experiences and that sound very important and the rest is slowly paling off. I remember I was thinking that I will catch up on my friend and that we have enough time to catch up. On other hand the longer time passed we definitely loose that important change that connect two people. I remember that one day we met with my friend in one of the cafe, it was very unexpected and both of us we were with our friends. Of course, we were glad to see each other but it was not much to talk about. It is a shame that are not close friends now.

What lesson did you learn from that experience?

For me I have one lesson that our human relations with our friends we should care about and we should look after our friends and also to let our friends to know that they are important for us. Without attention and care to each other we easily loose our friends and what I learned that the best and loyal friends we get from our childhood and youth time. Those relations are stronger and always for long time.

How has that moment shaped the person you are today?

Since that experience from my childhood I now try to be more attentive to people around me. My friends and neighbours I always greet and have small talk, if there is anything I can help I always offer my help and I am there. Those my friends who are moved away, we still meet up at least once a month, either in cafe or maybe visiting each other for cup of tea and some cakes. I am satisfied with my new approach to others and hope that my friends also will be learning on those examples.
