The movie I chose is Titanic. It is one of the most famous romantic films ever made, and I enjoyed its emotional story, memorable characters, and historical setting. The journey of Jack and Rose shows love, courage, and hope even during a terrible disaster. However, I did not like the original ending because it was heartbreaking. After everything they went through together, Jack died in the freezing ocean while Rose survived. Although his sacrifice was touching, I wished they had both been given a chance to live. Their love story felt incomplete, and I wanted to see them enjoy the future they had dreamed about together.
In my version of the story, Jack never gives up after the Titanic sinks. Instead of accepting defeat, he notices several floating wooden pieces and a broken section of a cabin nearby. He ties them together with a life jacket strap to create a stronger floating platform. Rose helps him while they both encourage each other to stay calm and keep fighting for their lives.
The freezing night feels endless, but they keep talking about their dreams to stay awake. Jack reminds Rose of her promise to live a full life, and Rose promises that they will build that life together. As the sun rises, a rescue boat finally hears Rose calling for help. The rescuers pull both Jack and Rose from the icy water just in time.
After recovering from the disaster, they arrive safely in New York. Rose decides not to return to the life that had been planned for her. Instead, she chooses freedom and follows her dreams with Jack by her side. Jack works hard to become an architect, while Rose develops her talent for painting. Although life is not always easy, they support one another through every challenge.
Years later, they return to the ocean where the Titanic sank. They place flowers on the water to honor the passengers and crew who lost their lives. Standing together, they remember that surviving was not just a second chance for themselves but also a responsibility to live meaningful lives. They leave with gratitude, knowing that love, hope, and determination helped them overcome the darkest moment of their lives.
I believe my ending is better because it gives the story a stronger message of hope without taking away the tragedy of the Titanic disaster. The loss of so many lives is still remembered and respected, but Jack and Rose are rewarded for their courage, determination, and love. Throughout the movie, they faced countless difficulties and never stopped believing in each other. Allowing them to survive feels like a natural reward for everything they endured.
This ending also inspires viewers to keep fighting even when situations seem impossible.
It shows that hope, teamwork, and perseverance can make a difference during the hardest moments. Instead of leaving the audience with sadness alone, it ends with optimism and reminds us that a second chance in life should be used wisely. For these reasons, I find this rewritten ending more satisfying, emotional, and meaningful than the original one
