Drainage
Drainage is the process of allowing excess water to pass through by creating an appropriate channel in order to prevent erosion, flooding, structural damage, as well as farmland loss.
Drainage has been successfully used in agriculture because some farmers use it as a method of irrigation in dry regions with the aid of pipes to control the water directly in their farmland. Excess removal of water through artificial means removes water from the soil before it enters, and if this does not happen, it would remove nutrients from the soil.
Although planter drainage is necessary because it allows the crop to grow healthily, excess water can escape through the planter. But if the excess water is not allowed to drain, it may cause root rot when mold fungi develop other and other issues that would affect the health of the crop.
Drainage has been used for a long period of time in order to control excess water so that all our farmland, buildings, as well as road constructions, cannot be destroyed. That’s why this method was developed to protect our property.
If water standing in one position without moving to appropriate channel it may result into salt accumulation on the farm because without drainage it's a major problem for the farmers. Drainage play a crucial role in the drying season to used as irrigation as well as to control water table and prevent salt from storing in the root zone.
