Who is farming for if it's not for everyone?
Flying an aircraft is not for everyone, doing a stunt on a dirt bike is not for everyone, that's exactly how farming is also not for everyone.
It's not plant a seed inside the earth and watch it grow. If it was as simple as that, everyone will be doing it to get free grocery if not as a business. If it was easy it wouldn't be a business.
So who is farming for?
You have to accept this before you go into it, farming is tough. Lots of people dream of living in the country, getting lots of fresh air, and leading a quiet life in a beautiful ranch. First of all the ranch looks beautiful from the outside at best, but the livestock have their dunk smell, the plants have their seasons to grow and sensitivity to unpredictable weather that can make them behave like crypto, you wouldn't even know whether it'll do well this year or not until you've gathered enough information and could still mislead you.
As a person you need to have so many qualities to do this work well enough.
From the beginning you have to work hard for several months before receiving income from it. This is an inevitable rule that will not change, so don't think you'll be getting some instant return on investment.
You need a basic understanding of the nature of soil, and climate conditions and what products to use to help the soils stay healthy.
You'll also need to be familiar with all kinds of pests, different machines people use at the farm and how to fix them by yourself or pay someone who can because any malfunction can ruin all the results. The guy dreaming of having a farm, 9 out of 10 times is not thinking about a machine breakdown he has to fix and if he's not thinking it, he clearly didn't remove that from his budget.
A storm or unfavorable weather during a certain period of time can spoil a month of hard work in just minutes. Are you prepared for the possibility of that? Sure you can put measures in place that'll save some crops of a situation like that comes around but what if it's more than you prepared for?
The expenses of farming is there. Before yiu earn anything, you will have to invest heavily in purchasing the land, equipment, seeds, fertilizers, all of that . This business needs you to do some constant and careful accounting, if not it is doomed to fail. The life of a farmer is filled with commitment and dedication to his work just like any factory production but located outdoors.
Unfortunately, they do not have control over climate conditions. I wish it was different but that's the planet we're living on. That's why it becomes necessary to be extremely strong and resourceful in this business.
Some of the farmers you see and they look wealthy, may be getting their money from somewhere else. Of course, farming if done well is big money and one thing I like about it is that it's going to bring liquidity because food is eaten all the time.
Because of all that is involved I have so much respect for farmers.

🎉 Congratulations!
