Greetings to all members of this prestigious community and to you who take out time to read this post. You are welcome to my blog today.

In this contest, I want to share with you one of soup love and cherish by thousands of people in my environment. It is Okra soup. This soup is Rich in protein and has lot of health.

First, it supports heart health, Good for bone health,Good for blood sugar control,Good for digestive health and hinders constipation and Good for weight loss. Okra soup is prepared with nutrient rich ingredients which help boost the immune system.

After getting to know the health benefits of this food recipe, let us proceed to the preparation procedures and ingredients used.

Ingredients Used

  • Okra
  • Oyster 🦪
  • Crayfish
  • Periwinkle
  • Pepper 🌶️
  • Onion 🧅
  • Red Palm oil 🪔
  • Azusa leaf.
  • Seasoning cubes to taste
  • Salt to taste.

As seen above, I have done pre-preparation of all the necessary items needed for this cooking. I use lime in washing all my Sea ingredients. This helps in removing a fishy smells from the meal.


I started my cooking with steaming of the fish, snails, periwinkle and oyster with Seasoning cubes, pepper, onions and salt to make it tasty. Remember this is proteinous part of the meals,it should be cook with care.

My second step was putting of empty clean pot on a cooker with low heat and allowed it dry. I added my desirable quantity of palm oil to the pot.

I allow the oil to become hot a little, I added onion and fry for few seconds. This give the meal an appetizing flavor.

I put my chopped okra to the oil and stir it consistently which helps the Okra to perform, It is advisable to stir consistently not get burnt.

It was then time to put my already steam proteinous ingredients which was fish, oyster, periwinkle and other.

I added a little quantity of water to the pot which will help the soup not to be sticky.

My final step was putting of seasoning cubes and Azusa leave.I allowed the pot on a cooking process for some minutes which helped everything to be done properly.

At this point, my delicious Okro soup is ready.

Okra soup is a very delicious meal because it comes with lots of proteinous ingredients that is healthy for both children and adults. It is cherish and love thousands of people around the globe.

Some use swallows like fufu, garri, pounded yam, semolina and wheat while others people eat it with white rice or boiled yam. I used mine with white garri well prepared🍚.

Hi, dear. This is a very well presented recipe from your traditional cuisine. It's great to know this kind of dishes. I can see some productos available here, like the main one which is okra, while some other ingredients could be substituted.
