Contest||Recipe of the Day.Week No.114:("Stingray fry with water lily flowers")
Dear friends, I am delighted to participate in today's "Recipe of the Day: Week 114" contest. Today, I am going to share a simple recipe with you. Interestingly, the fish and the flower used in this dish share the same name—specifically, "Shaplapata Fish Fry with Shapla (Water Lily) Flowers." These fish are incredibly delicious on their own, and pairing them with the petals of the Shapla flower made the dish even tastier and more enjoyable.
This contest, organized by @steemit-Ironchef, is undoubtedly a wonderful initiative. I would also like to extend my thanks to @mvchacin; I am sincerely grateful to them for organizing such an amazing recipe-based competition.
Here is: contest link. So, let's get started with the recipe---
Ingredients:
| Ingredients | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Stingray fish | 1 kg |
| Water lily leaves/flowers | 4 |
| Green chilies | 4 |
| Chopped onions | 3 |
| Garlic cloves | 5 |
| Panch Phoron (five-spice mix) | 1/2 tablespoon |
| Cumin powder | 1 tablespoon |
| Dried red chili paste | 1 tablespoon |
| Cumin paste | 1 tablespoon |
| Coriander paste | 1 tablespoon |
| Ginger paste | 1/2 tablespoon |
| Salt | 2 tablespoons |
| Turmeric | 1.5 tablespoon |
| mustard Oil | 100 grams |
| Red chili powder | 1/2 tablespoon |
Methods for making recipe:
Step: 1
First, I cut the fish. Interestingly, two offspring were found inside its belly; this particular stingray belongs to a smaller variety. Anyway, I cut it into small pieces and washed them thoroughly with water.Next, I seasoned the fish with the right amount of salt and turmeric powder, mixing everything well. Then, I heated the required amount of mustard oil in a pan and added the fish pieces. Now, I will fry the fish, turning them over frequently until they turn a deep reddish-brown. Then, I will sprinkle a little red chili powder over the fish, according to taste.
Step: 2
Now, I will separate the white petals of the water lily flowers one by one and then wash them thoroughly with water.
Step: 3
After frying and removing the fish, I will add oil to the pan again and temper it with panch phoron (five-spice mix). Then, I will add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté them.
Step: 4
Once the onions are lightly fried, I will add the green chilies, followed by salt and turmeric powder to taste.
Step: 5
Next, I will add the powdered spices and the spice paste to the onions and sauté the mixture well.
Step: 6
Next, I will toss in the flower petals and sauté them for a few minutes.
Step: 7
Now, I will add the pre-fried pieces of Shaplapata fish, stirring to coat them thoroughly with the spices. Then, I will cover the pan and let it cook for about 3–4 minutes.
Final Step:
Finally, I will give it a quick stir and transfer the dish to a serving bowl. And just like that, my "Shaplapata Fish Fry with Water Lily Flowers" is ready.
Image Presentation:
It should be served hot with steamed rice. It is incredibly tasty and delicious.
| So, dear friends, I hope you enjoyed the recipe I prepared today. I will be back again soon with a new recipe post. Until then, take care, everyone. May God keep you all healthy. |
