This food location is situated in Ogoja LGA, beside the River Joy Park, also known as Ikom Park. The Ogoja LGA is one of the oldest and most significant places in Cross River State. This is because of their industrious lifestyle, the people in this area are known for being a great source of food availability in the state, they cultivate Yam, Cassava, Rice, Maize, Plantain, Vegetables, and Palm produce.

The Ogoja LGA is Famous for its production of fruits like orange, mango, and banana. It's a big LGA that contains a lot of good local restaurants and food.

What food or drink is this place known for?

The name of this restaurant is "Rich Way". The Rich Way restaurant has a variety of food and drinks that are mainly local. This restaurant is known for local dishes like

Afang Soup & Eba

• Afang soup & Eba or fufu.

• Egusi soup.

• Okra soup.

• Rice and beans.

• Fried rice.

The Afang soup is the most delicious across this state and also in this Local government area, this is because of tasty and rich the food is in nutrients. Most occasions like weddings, birthday parties, and naming ceremonies can't take place without the Afang soup, which is a food that showcases the love the Ogoja people have for good things.

Why is this location popular among local people or visitors?

This place is popular amongst local visitors because of the delicious meals they offer. They offer all kinds of meals that are loved by the locals and most importantly because the meals are nutritious and also cheap, compared to hotels that demand gate fees and still sell meals costly.

Good sitting Arrangement

Visitors who come here to have meals prefer the place because it is less crowded and has affordable meals. Most visitors are travelers who came to board vehicles to their destination. They often come here because of the different kinds of soup that are eaten nationwide. Visitors also love the fact that the restaurant is kept neat at all times.

What was your personal experience during the visit?

Wonderful Atmosphere

As I first entered the restaurant I was astonished at how nice and clean everything was, even though it was just a local restaurant for cultural meals. I visited the place with my friend so it was quite a journey because we talked about how the meals were affordable compared to how things were sold at higher rates back home.

Washing bowl & sanitizer

I really like the kind of customer service because while we were eating we finished our water and they give is another one. The best part of the restaurant was the availability of a washing bowl to wash your hands before and after eating your meals, and not just that they also have a sanitizer to get your hands free from the smell of your meals. It was awesome how a local restaurant could be so modern and spectacular. I had the Afang soup & Eba with my friend and trust me it's delicious, I bet you'll all like it.

How does this place reflect the food culture of your area?

Having a Good meal

The people of the Ogoja LGA are known to have a rich food culture which showcases their agricultural heritage and strong sense of togetherness. The foods such as Afang soup, okra, and Egusi soup show how much they contribute to themselves agriculturally through the production of rice, yams, cassava, and maize. You can see that in my meal they're a locally produced vegetables and fish in the soup. This shows how much the Rich Way restaurant reflects the people's love for agriculture and exquisite meals. The meals that are prepared in this restaurant are recipes that have been passed down from generations, which shows that this restaurant stands as one of the cultural preserving statues in this area. This restaurant helps people in my area to feel at home with nature and their family.
