Every place has a story that evolves over time. Some locations preserve their historical charm, while others have transformed through modernization, renovation, or changing lifestyles.

This week, participants are invited to explore places that reflect the journey of time. Through Steem Atlas, share a location that reveals how the past and present come together, helping others understand its history, development, and continued importance.

What Participants Should Capture

---

You may capture:

• Historical landmarks
• Renovated heritage buildings
• Historic streets with modern development
• Railway stations or transport hubs with historical significance
• Places that have changed while preserving their identity - public spaces,town centers or Heritage marketplaces (Temporary fairs and seasonal markets are not allowed)

Choose a place that tells a story of change, preservation, and continuity.

Note: Entries that do not match the contest theme will not be considered for evaluation.

Questions Participants Must Answer

1. Where is this place located, how can visitors reach it, and when did you visit it?
2. What is the history of this place, and why is it important to your town or city?
3. How has this place changed over the years, or what evidence of its past can still be seen today?
4. What can visitors experience or learn by visiting this place today?
5. Why do you think this place should be preserved and remembered for future generations?

Writing Guidelines

---

• Post Title: SLC-S33/W3 | Beyond the Map : Then & Now
• Share your personal observations and experiences.
• Explain both the historical background and the present condition of the place.
• Compare the past and present whenever possible.
• Include opening and closing times if appropriate.
• Write meaningful descriptions for every photograph.
• Focus on storytelling rather than short captions.
• Explain why the place remains valuable today.

Submission Rules

• Publish your post in the Story On Steem Community.
• Your publication must contain at least 400 words.
• Participants may write in any language.
• Share at least 10 original photographs with meaningful captions.
• Add at least one original video (45 seconds to 1 minute).
• Correct Google Maps link and Steem Atlas pin are required.
• Include the actual date of your visit.
• Read and follow the 21 Tips to Make Better Posts for Steem Atlas.
• You may set 10%–25% beneficiaries to @steem-atlas.
• Review a location that you have not reviewed previously.
• Do not reuse photographs from previous Steem posts.
• Maintain good markdown formatting and presentation.
• Plagiarism and AI-generated content are strictly prohibited.
• Only one entry per participant.
• Invite at least three friends to participate.
• Leave your post link in the comment section of this contest post.

Photography Guidelines

• Use clear, original, and well-framed photographs.
• Show both historical and modern aspects of the location whenever possible.
• Capture architectural details, monuments, or features that reflect the place's evolution.
• Avoid blurry, heavily edited, or unrelated photographs.
• Keep all photographs connected to the same location or nearby area.
• Ensure your video complements your review and highlights the location's atmosphere.
