Material I used

A balloon
White tissue paper
White glue
The water

How to make

Step No. 1

First I filled a balloon with enough air to make it round in shape. After that, a solution was prepared by mixing water and white glue in a vessel.

Step No. 2

I cut the tissue paper into small pieces and with the help of a brush soaked in the glue solution I started gluing them onto the balloon layer by layer. Apply each layer carefully so that the entire surface looks uniform.

Step 3

When the balloon is completely covered with tissue paper, set it aside to dry. After drying, the surface was quite firm and ready for painting.

Step 4

In this step I painted and colour the entire balloon model a light blue sea like color to highlight the seascape and sea life.

After the paint completely dries, use a brush to create amazing and wonderful images of sea turtle 🐢, shark 🦈 and stingray and highlight them with black.

Step 5

Finally I tied the thread at the top so it could be hung easily. Thus completed my nautical themed tissue paper craft.

Was this my first experience?

No, it was not my first experience to create 3D art by placing tissue paper on a balloon in this manner. But all the time when I work with tissue at first I thought the tissue paper might not stick properly, but with the help of hardwork, patience and careful work it turned out great.

Am I satisfied with my results?

Of course! I really liked the craft I made. Especially the blue background and sea animals drawn on it make this model beautiful and unique. In the future I would like to try the same technique with different themes.

My learning point

Through this activity using tissue paper crafting, I learned that creativity comes not only from expensive equipment, it's comes also from using simple and cheap things only when you have creative and passionate to create new things, but from new ideas, hard work and patience. If we use ordinary things in a new way, beautiful art can be created even for home decoration.
