Creativity from around the world!

As I mentioned in my previous post, we took my son @judethedude to the local comic con yesterday, which was over the mountain in Cape Town - about a 1.5hrs drive from where we stay.

I will let him share the details of his experience in a post of his own, but from my side, the best part of it all was seeing him reconnect with one of his oldest buddies that he had not seen for close to three years!

For me, the experience as a whole was pretty cool I do have to say! It was really fun to see all the dress up costumes parading around and this hum of activity all around you with adults, teens and kids from all walks of life enjoying everything that was on offer there.

There really was a LOT to take in and I know we missed a fair amount, but considering it was the last of five days and it was as full as it was - I was really very impressed!

There was literally anything and everything that would interest a gamer, artist, comic enthusiast etc. and there was no shortage of stuff for people to do, ranging from the tech side with virtual reality tournaments right to the opposite end of the spectrum with table games like scrabble and chess.

Difficult not to enjoy that kind of vibe over all, but I think the thing I got caught up in the most was all the ART!!!! I was just completely blown away by all the absolutely incredible talent in every direction you looked! Some mature adults and others just young teens! The stuff they are producing, whether it was fine art, animated illustration or wacky and wild I was completely mesmerised!!!!

I did not get enough time to explore all the artists as thoroughly as I would have liked, but I did get to chat to a few of the artists there about their work, their style and their story. It is always fascinating to dive into the mind of another creative.. Find out what inspires them etc.

Walking around there, admiring all the talent from around the world, brought to mind a conversation I was having with Dave the other night, about how the world has changed so much over the years in terms of what is considered an "acceptable" career path or "life choice" these days. It is so wonderful to see how the creatives arts are being uplifted and celebrated now versus how they were almost suppressed in years gone by. People are no longer considered a "loser" or hopeless case" for pursuing a creative path and it is truly wonderful to see!

It makes my heart happy to see people openly sharing and embracing their creative talents, journey and expressions and it further inspires me to continue pursuing my own path as far as art goes, regardless of where it leads me!

Lovely place to take time, no doubts! I love to check art festivals where kids have everything to imply their boundless creativity - it is so much fun.

Looks like a great day :)
