Uyo is the capital of AkwaIbom State and it's gradually becoming one of most beautiful places in the South of Nigeria. The natives of Uyo are the Ibibio people. Come and meet some of the landmarks that makes Uyo a unique place in my town in ten pictures.

Starting with the famous Ibom Plaza which is at the heart of the town, its the economic hub of my town. The place called plaza in Uyo covers a large area with it's center being the Ibom connection where the 5 major roads previously converged at the center of the town. This area is teeming with petty traders, phone repairs technicians, business offices and shops creating the right recipe for pickpocketing so be on high alert in this area.

{ 2 } APICO Investment House

Let's go to the investment house located along Abak Road in the city center. At some point this building was the tallest in my town and was iconic for some time. It houses lots of offices like Skye bank, APICO Investment, AKIIPOC, OAK pension, Polaris Bank and other offices.
The building is a six storey edifice.

{ 3 } Tropicana Proposed Hotel

Driving away from Abak Road, let's visit the building that attempted to brake the record of tallest building in my town, the Tropicana Proposed Hotel and Lodge which unfortunately was not compiled and still remains uncompleted till this time. The building is located along Udo-Udoma Avenue.

{ 4 } ExxonMobil Staff Quarters

Moving up along Udo-Udoma Avenue, we now have the record holder for the tallest building in my town, it's the monolithic 21 storey Mobil staff building located in the banking layout of Uyo. A heavenly guarded building designed to house office staff of ExxonMobil.

{ 5 } Int Worship Center

Another note worthy landmarks in the vicinity is the International Worship Center with a sitting capacity of 10,000. The International Worship Center is located at Afaha Ikot Obio Nkan. Read moreabout this building.

{ 6 } Ibom Specialist Hospital

Running over to the other side of the town where we have the Ibom Specialist hospital fully equipped with Altra modern equipment and facilities. While it can Bost of the best available health service in the south of Nigeria, it also has the reputation of being extremely expensive. The hospital is located along Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo.

{ 7 } State Secretariat Annex

The DAKADA secretariat complex was once an abandoned project which was part of the Tropicana facility but was left unused till the present government decided to complete the building and use it as an extension of the state secretariat. The facility now houses the ministry of works, labour and productivity.

{ 8 } Kilimanjaro fast food

The City of Uyo will be incomplete without fast food and restaurant. I present Kilimanjaro fast food located along Oron Road in Uyo. This fast food is known for its fries and most especially it's fresh hot bread. When light up in the night, the building looks even more attractive.

{ 9 } Ekom Iman junction

The most endearing features of the city of Uyo is its broad and clean roads. A team tasked with keeping the road clean works every 03:00 to 05:00 in the morning to keep this roads clean. Before the population is awake, the roads are all swept and the workers evacuated, some of which will get ready for other jobs by 08:00 attractive.

{ 10 } Blessed multi-ventures

Blessed Ifeadigo multi-ventures is located along Oron Road, close to the new roundabout at Oron Road intersection with new ring road 3. The building is a show house and wearhouse for exotic furniture and equipment like Italian office sets, chandeliers, office tables, electronic and surveillance equipment.
