Magnificent Architecture and Impressive Arts at Wat Tor Pae, in Mae Hong Son province, in the North of Thailand
If you love arts and architecture, I would recommend Wat Tor Pae for you. This temple is located in Mae Hong Son province, in the North of Thailand.
Viharn in this temple has magnificent architecture with a multi-layered roof. It’s in Tai Yai style.
Next to the Viharn, you will see the pagoda which is impressive with the white base and its golden body.
If you can notice, there are many small bells on the top of the pagoda. I myself like to listen to the sound of the bells jingling when there is a wind, I think it has magical power to the mind.
Both Viharn and pagoda are the signature of this temple.
They are popular for many people to take pictures of.
The pavilion that you see in the far distance has impressive architecture in Tai Yai and Burmese style.
The multi-layered roof is decorated beautifully.
In the pavilion, there are many interesting things to see; such as:
Buddha statues in Tai Yai and Burmese style…..
a beautiful old pulpit, Jung Para….
impressive decorations; i.e. golden peacock….
Rubby Curtain…..a marvelous traditional Burmese artwork which is decorated with beautiful beads, pearls and genuine rubies. It's over 150 years old.
The curtain tells the story about the Lord Buddha autobiography, especially the Vessantara Jataka.
These are great things of Wat Tor Pae that should not be missed!
