Two days ago, I received a phone call from my son, Adib. He is studying at Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School in Sibreh, Aceh Besar. In a soft voice, he told me that he needed a taekwondo uniform and football clothes for extracurricular activities at his pesantren. Hearing his voice, my heart felt warm and heavy at the same time.
Actually, since the beginning of the month, I had planned to buy those items for him. But life does not always go as planned. My salary had not been paid yet. Still, for a father, love for his child has no story about being stingy.
