Greetings to all! I have long thought whether to write about such a delicate topic as burial in Italy? And yet I decided to write, because there are features that can lead to bewilderment of individuals.

The first time I encountered the dead here was four years ago, when I saw the funeral procession moving along the road, and behind them the tail of the cars and no one signaled that they had taken the road and the cars could not pass. I was impressed by such respect and respect for people's grief. I noticed how festive and beautiful were dressed men and women in hats, beautiful dresses, shoes with heels.

The second time my husband invited me to visit his colleague and pay tribute to his dead mother. We arrived: a large two-storey house, a huge plot of land and a room where on the bed the third day lay a dry old woman, so calm, clean, all white dressed, as if only stopped her heart. I was surprised, and my husband explained to me that still in Italy decided to leave the deceased at home, call all friends and acquaintances, so they came to the house and said goodbye to the deceased. The house is open to visitors - this is the norm.

And here, note: get the coffin, get the mummy, bone or what is left of the deceased, washed them, placed in a white sheet and placed in a concrete vault and not bricked up, because the relatives so wish, they can spend time with regular cleansing of the remains. That's what I was shocked and like my brain can not realize. I have never heard of such an action and I have never known it. And my husband did this to the remains of his mother without any disgust.

Burying a dead man costs a lot of money. To buy a place in the city cemetery is from 1000-4000 euros, depends on what level the coffin is placed: in the wall of the 4th level, the highest is cheaper and the lowest is more expensive. Then put a marble slab in the wall, write on it the names of the dead, again defined by the style of letters, install a light bulb that can be at the request of relatives to burn constantly, or on holidays, or on certain days, or only in the morning-it's all prescribed in the contract between the cemetery administration and relatives and that it is important, in this mode and will be executed, and costs money, for example my husband pays a year for a light bulb 45 euros! In recent years, the cemetery built these private crypts. They cost a lot of money, about 60-100 thousand euros. There are different design, among them you can see the real works of architecture, because people who have large families want to be together in the subsequent life after life and not to part both on earth and in heaven. Here they are - the Neapolitans, they have their traditions around, they venerate their ancestors: pay a visit to the dead, change the flowers, watching the lights below burned light bulb on marble slabs.

In the final part of my story I would like to say that the Italian cemetery can be called a place of modern architecture, designed in the same style, where all the conditions for the last repose of the souls of the dead. Usually they are beautiful, there are many flowers, greenery, as in Paradise, always clean, calm and really everything is done at a high level.
