Dr. Fixit is best for keeping dampness away

The rain in my area is playing its roe and some of my walls are showing signs of dampness. I talked to my permanent paint shop and they suggest to use Dr Fixit Pidicrete URP to safeguard the walls

I suggest if rain is causing damp patches on your walls, Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP can help as a bonding and waterproofing additive, but it works best when the wall is properly prepared first. It is usually mixed with cement and applied in coats to create a water-resistant layer, especially for seepage-prone areas like patches exposed to rain or moisture.

Before application, the loose plaster should be removed, the surface cleaned well, and any active leakage source fixed; otherwise, the dampness may return.

Let me add that for wall repairs, a common method is a slurry mix of about 1 part URP to 1.5 parts cement, applied in two coats with the second coat at right angles after the first dries.

You know two years ago I had faced the same problem which cost me around $6000 and a lot of time plus disrupted my travel plans so this year I am playing it safe because I can see the dampness is on internal walls the problem is from an external crack, and couple of roof edges. Thankfully window seepage is not there but moisture coming from the top, so I feel this treatment will make a difference.
