SLC30-W6 | 24 Hours Travel Reporter : Service Provider Zone.
Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the last week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing visit to Service provider zone. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.

What kind of Service Provider Zone have you visited? Briefly introduce it.
I have visited the Signboard Bus Station as a service provider zone. This bus station is very popular, especially for passengers traveling to Chattogram and Cox's Bazar. All categories of buses, starting from local buses to premium ones, depart from here. Additionally, buses for various other divisional routes across the country are available here. It is also known as the final bus stand for exiting Dhaka city.
Located right on the Dhaka-Narayanganj highway, this bus station is situated at the Signboard crossing. The location has gained significant popularity among people specifically by the name of this station. There are ticket counters here from which tickets for various destinations across the country can be collected. Ticket sales and purchases take place here from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM.

How were the services and history both inside and outside?
Upon arriving at this bus stand, customers can purchase tickets for their preferred buses. It is worth noting that while some buses depart directly from here, most buses coming from Sayedabad or Jatrabari use this as their third stand to pick up passengers. This means customers can buy a ticket here and board the bus directly.
The ticket counters are lined up on the western side of the road. There are more than 100 ticket counters selling AC, Non-AC, and various other company bus tickets. Fares are fixed based on the distance in kilometers, and the rates vary depending on the class of the bus.

There are several things to keep in mind here. Those who travel by bus frequently are well aware that various illegal activities regarding tickets occur at bus stands. Often, unaware customers are deceived by these sellers.
Sometimes, after a customer buys a ticket for a specific bus at a counter, they are not given a seat on that bus but are instead placed on an inferior quality bus. Furthermore, even though ticket prices are fixed according to a chart, middlemen often sell tickets to new customers at higher prices.

I recently took a ticket from this Signboard bus station to travel from Dhaka to Chittagong. Since I travel frequently, I have good experience regarding this place. I have noticed some third-party individuals approaching customers and insisting they buy tickets; many people, without understanding, end up buying tickets from them at higher prices or for the wrong bus.
Tickets can be easily purchased from the counters, and the best part is that buses for most routes are available every 30 minutes. Therefore, there is no issue even if you don't book in advance. However, it is better to get tickets early during festival seasons because of the high volume of travelers, which leads to ticket shortages.

I am mentioning some route ticket prices below based on kilometers:
| Bus Route | Price (BDT) | Price (STEEM) |
|---|---|---|
| Dhaka - Chittagong | 680 BDT | 95.77 STEEM |
| Dhaka - Cox's Bazar | 1050 BDT | 147.89 STEEM |
| Dhaka - Sylhet | 700 BDT | 98.59 STEEM |
| Dhaka - Comilla | 350 BDT | 49.30 STEEM |
| Dhaka - Bandarban | 850 BDT | 119.72 STEEM |
| Dhaka - Rangamati | 850 BDT | 119.72 STEEM |
Local buses for shorter distances, public transportation, tempos, Safe Line, rickshaws, and autos are all available around this bus stand. There are many food shops nearby, so passengers can take a break to eat or buy necessary food for the journey.
I did not see any public washrooms nearby. It is somewhat expected that everything might not be well-organized at such a bus stand; however, some business-class ticket counters have washrooms for their own customers, which are not available to everyone. So, all in all, this bus stand has both its good and bad sides.

In my opinion, this place is suitable for those traveling on the Dhaka-Chattogram route. Those traveling in the opposite direction should consider other better bus stations available in Dhaka, where there is more variety and better facilities.
What services did you go there for?
I visited Dhaka this week for some work and used the bus ticket service here to return to Chattogram. This was my first time visiting the Signboard bus station because it is the last station to exit Dhaka, for an easy journey toward Chattogram with less traffic congestion.
I had my lunch at a restaurant near the bus stand. However, the lack of washrooms for customer convenience was disappointing. I used the Hanif Enterprise bus service and was able to depart within 20 minutes of purchasing my ticket from the counter.
Share your 24-hour experience & Show there management system.
To be honest, the management system here is not very advanced. It is not considered one of the main bus stations within Dhaka, but it is widely used by customers as a major exit point from the city. I believe if a bus service is not urgently required, one should consider going to a better location.
If you urgently need bus service for the Chattogram route, you will easily find available buses here. There are also some local buses available at very low ticket prices, but in my opinion, these consume more time on long journeys as they stop at most stations to pick up passengers. Therefore, it is better to opt for a quality bus service for long-distance travel.
