The term 'tokenomics' is a combination of the words 'token' and 'economics'. Simply put, tokenomics is the mathematical design, economic model, supply chain, and the overall science of supply and demand behind a particular cryptocurrency or digital token. Whether any blockchain project will survive in the market in the long term or go bankrupt and collapse depends on how solid the tokenomics of the project is built on. Just as in traditional economics, the central bank controls the supply and value of a country's currency, in the crypto world, the economy of that token is managed through the coding of the project and smart contracts. One of the most important elements of tokenomics is the supply or supply structure of the token. There are three main types of supply: Max Supply (the maximum number of tokens that can be created, such as Bitcoin's 21 million), Circulating Supply (the number of tokens currently available for purchase and sale on the market), and Total Supply (the total number of tokens created so far). If a project's tokens continue to be added to the market (inflationary tokens), their price may decrease due to excess supply. On the other hand, if tokens are removed from the market through 'token burning' (permanent destruction of tokens) or a fixed supply method (deflationary tokens), the value of the token increases over time based on demand. In addition, token distribution is a very sensitive aspect of tokenomics. It is precisely divided into what percentage of the project's total tokens will be held by institutional investors, developer teams, liquidity pools, and the general public. In addition, a specific 'vesting period' or lock-in period is set to prevent developers' tokens from being sold in the market in a hurry. The utility of the token is also important in tokenomics; that is, whether the user will pay gas fees with the token, earn income by staking, or manage the project or exercise voting rights through governance. In short, tokenomics is the financial or economic blueprint of a project. Before investing in a crypto project without being tempted by the hype or flashy advertisements on social media, analyzing its tokenomics thoroughly is one of the main keys to profitable and safe investment.
