Останній день квітня. The last day of April

Кажуть, якщо коти ховаються під ковдру — тепла не чекай. Виявляється, це дійсно так. Тепла нема. В квартирі холодно, на вулиці також, а завтра вже, на хвилиночку, перше травня! Через те, що постійно ввімкнений обігрівач, платіж за електроенергію просто захмарний. І нікуди не дінешся, сума росте, як гриби після дощу. Коти сьогодні перевершили самі себе. Поховалися не тільки під ковдри, а й навіть залізли в шафу. Я вже їх не ганяла. Хай сидять, гріються.

Трохи про успіхи сина. За тиждень він зробив уже 4 річні контрольні: з музики, основ здоров’я, хімії та всесвітньої історії. Якщо рахувати контрольну роботу з фізкультури, яку він здав раніше, то маємо вже п’ять закритих предметів. Не знаю, як буде далі, бо попереду ще безліч непройдених уроків. Треба йому трішки піднапружитися, щоб усе встигнути.

Сьогодні син писав есе про хрестові походи. Якщо чесно, він геть про них забув, тому довелося перечитувати книжку і писати все від себе. Вийшло досить пристойне есе. Зате тепер він цю тему точно не забуде, ще довго згадуватиме. )) Оцінки поки що нема, тому що закінчив писати вже о 19:00.

А завтра у школі вихідний. Розкладу нема, хоча він на нього зараз і не дивиться, робить у першу чергу те, що подобається. Але вихідному зрадів. Зрадів що ще один вихідний без уроків. Хай так буде, вихідний перед ривком)). Найскладніше попереду — це буде фізика. Там ще багато роботи і для нього складної. Сподіваюся, закінчить все вчасно.

Хоч зараз і холодно, і уроків ціла гора, приготування на кухні, але все одно десь всередині вже відчувається — літо зовсім близько. Це таке класне передчуття, коли розумієш: ще трохи, і можна буде закинути ці теплі куртки та обігрівач кудись подалі. Просто відчинити вікна навстіж, вдихнути тепле повітря і нарешті забути про шкільне навчання. Оце очікування свободи і справжнього тепла — воно зараз, мабуть, найбільше тримає.

На сьогодні все. Гріємося, як можемо, і чекаємо на травень.

They say if cats hide under the blankets, don't expect warmth. Turns out, it's absolutely true. There is no warmth. It's cold in the apartment, cold outside, and tomorrow is already—wait for it—the first of May! Because the heater is always on, the electricity bill is sky-high. There's no getting away from it; the total grows like mushrooms after rain. The cats outdid themselves today. They didn't just hide under the blankets; they even crawled into the closet. I didn't even try to shoo them away. Let them sit there and stay warm.

A little about my son's progress. In one week, he has already finished 4 final exams: Music, Health, Chemistry, and World History. If you count the PE test he did earlier, that’s five subjects cleared. I don't know how it will go from here, as there are still plenty of lessons left to complete. He needs to push a bit more to get everything done on time.

Today he wrote an essay on the Crusades. To be honest, he had completely forgotten about them, so he had to reread the book and write everything in his own words. It turned out to be a pretty decent essay. At least now he definitely won't forget this topic; he’ll remember it for a long time. )) There’s no grade yet since he only finished writing at 7:00 PM.

Tomorrow is a day off at school, so there's no schedule, though he doesn't really look at it anyway—he does what he likes first. But he was happy about the day off. Happy to have another day without lessons. Let it be—a day of rest before the final sprint )). The hardest part is still ahead: Physics. There's a lot of work left, and it’s difficult for him. I hope he finishes everything on time.

Even though it’s cold now, there's a mountain of homework, and chores in the kitchen, I still feel it deep down—summer is just around the corner. It’s that great feeling of knowing that soon you can toss those warm jackets and the heater away somewhere far. Just to throw the windows wide open, breathe in the warm air, and finally forget about schoolwork. This anticipation of freedom and real warmth is probably what keeps me going the most right now.
