A pawnshop of true treasures.

I don't know if you've ever used a pawnshop, but I think the principle is clear.

You bring some valuables there, and after their appraisal, you receive a certain amount of cash, which is much less than the true value of the valuable, with the option to buy it back later, but at a much higher price, as they say, with interest.

Something similar happens when, for example, we choose a profession not based on our passion, but based on some immediate need.

It seems like no big deal, you'll gain some experience, but it becomes increasingly difficult to return to what you once held dear. Time, too, always comes with interest.

It's sad that this everyday pawn shop is thriving, because often, for example, a child wants to pursue creative endeavors, but is instead pushed toward engineering, or vice versa.

There's always some prevailing opinion that, over time, becomes no more important than the noise of rush hour traffic.

Understanding this, I want to say: Lord, lead me as you will, and let your will, not mine, be done in all things!

I try to teach my children exactly this: we don't need pawnshops.
