Where there are no pigs.

Where there are no pigs.

Sitting in my cozy apartment, at the table with a sheet of paper on it, it's so easy to picture the bustling city, where life flies by so quickly and seems largely meaningless.

Home, work, home, barbecues on weekends after church—that's the simple itinerary of a week spent in the city, and I long for a change.

In essence, changing something isn't that difficult; it's hard to eradicate what's ingrained in the mind of a city dweller from birth, and this can even be simple proverbs warning against leaving the city for the countryside.

The woman knew no troubles, but she bought herself some piglets and troubles appeared. This is the sound and interpretation of an old proverb, which clearly shows that in the village, everything isn't as simple as it seems... unless you love what you do, probably.

Well, yes, there, in the village, you're your own boss, and your area of responsibility is directly proportional to the tasks you undertake.

If in the city you're used to waking up after dawn, then in the village you'll be competing with the larks, whose song begins before the sun has even risen above the horizon.

I wonder if villagers quote Saint-Exupéry before they leave their cozy beds and go out into the rain to feed the animals and clean the barns where all those animals live?

But even if that's not the case, you can still come up with some motivations, like telling yourself you're better than Jules Verne's heroes who found themselves on a desert island and managed to build a decent infrastructure out of nothing, especially on days when the power suddenly goes out in the village.
